Both FedEx and UPS AND USPS tend to piss me off. I really, really wish they'd deliver to their own stores for after hours pickup.
FYI, UPS stores are not affiliated with UPS. I learned this the hard way when I had a problem with sending a package.
At my old place both UPS and FedEx would leave packages, which was great. USPS wouldn't even check if we were home (that would involve climbing stairs!) but would automatically leave a slip. Their hours essentially meant going on Saturday for pick-ups.
Now, UPS automaticaly rings the super if you're not there and he leaves the package just inside the door to your apt, which is made of awesome. Sadly, that probably won't work with the new super we are soon getting.
Kathy- she is making it hard for me to catch her and then clamping her mouth shut so I have to pry her jaw open! I need 4 arms. Or not to be single, but most times I rather like it! I will try the behind version of the pick up and see if it works better.
It still makes me sad that she is "not talking" to me.
Wait, you can be evicted because you had bedbugs? How is that right? If you have a lease, can't you only be evicted for, like, doing bad things? Bedbugs are not your fault, surely?
Hee. (Edit: That was at Jen, not flea.)
Madness: I got a full-page, full color brochure from the mayor today, because he's running for a third term. They direct you to the website to volunteer. He doesn't even want my money!

Amarna did that when I would catch her and hold her to the ground, then try and force her mouth open. Having her in mid-air seemed to fool her into thinking she was heading for the carrier, so she went into automatic "complain as loud as I can" mode. Having her mouth open on its own made the whole procedure much easier--just wait for the meowing to start, then squirt it in and let her run away. Just make sure you have the dropper ready to go before you pick her up!

They say they couldn't treat the bedbugs properly because I had too much stuff and my apartment was messy. Now they're saying it's my fault some other tenants are leaving.

That's what I was wondering. Your landlord would have to have evidence that you knowingly brought bedbugs in (or wantonly disregarded their presence). And since you busted your ass to exterminate them, I think that disproves the "wanton disregard" theory.
Also, why do I open the door when I know it's someone I don't want to talk to??
Chicago has a pretty good renters rights policy, tom. Definitely check it out, because I'm guessing that they're the ones in violation, not you.
