I remember that, sadly. I also remember that I read the movement in support of keeping the law as is was underfunded and badly organized (basically, the same problem CA had with Prop 8). I'm hoping they've learned from that mistake.

When I lived it Hoboken, it was great. They would park the UPS truck right in front of the train station, and you could pick up your package on your way home from work.
My UPS place is only open from 3 - 5, and is somehow simultaneously in a bad part of town and not near a bus stop. They are the devil (although they apparently pay drivers quite well).
My UPS depot is in the middle of nowhere and I do not own a car. Fortunately there is a retired couple in Apt 1 of my building who are very nice about accepting packages.
