Early: Where'd she go? Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a space ship. Don't look at me.

Did you blackout and come to in a clean apartment?

No, but at one point, I was in the bathroom standing atop a wobbly ladder yanking open a stubborn light fixture to replace a bulb. I'm shocked that it didn't end in a spectacular pratfall and a trip to the ER.

I'm scanning the neighborhood listserv and copying down all recommended anythings. Reading about other people's housing adventures is nervousmaking!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A million years ago I posted a link to a Jamaican article about a man having sex with a goat that had a cartoon accompanying it, goat and all. There is a certain lack of shame or modesty in our sexual reporting, even though I'd categorise our national community as somewhat prudish. As a nation, there's a large streak of conservatism, and then there's dancehall, for instance. Which is the genesis of this article: Rise in Broken Willy. Which is...just what it sounds like. I just wish I could find a video of the dance referred to therein. All the youtubes I've seen so far are slideshows.

eta: Safe for work. More medical than anything else.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Speaking of medical, I have no mouth and I must scream voice. Matilda had a cold this week, spent many nights coughing on my head and now that she's better I'm infected.

Then we had the opening ceremony for Little League, parade, pictures and a 12:30 game that was looooooong. Didn't finish until after 3:00pm. Somewhere around the second inning (after herding the boys all day from parade to pictures to warmup) I lost my voice.

Then, of course, it was an incredible see-saw game where we ultimately won. Emmett hit a two-run home run. Our pitchers were awesome, we got just enough hits and our defense was much much better than the first game where we got slaughtered.

So, we're now 1-1 and we've got another game on Monday. Tomorrow's going to be a long baseball day too. Emmett has tournament team practice from 8-10am, umpire a game from 10-Noon, then regular team practice from 5:30 to 7:00. Crazy. Then a Monday game.

I will be doing all my coaching with sign language and dance moves.

My sister, ever the anthropologist, found me a link to the daggerin' dance. NSFW rating: Elvis on American Bandstand had *nothing* on this.

It makes me feel so old...but that's not dancing. Not by a long shot.
