Speaking of medical, I have no mouth and I must scream voice. Matilda had a cold this week, spent many nights coughing on my head and now that she's better I'm infected.
Then we had the opening ceremony for Little League, parade, pictures and a 12:30 game that was looooooong. Didn't finish until after 3:00pm. Somewhere around the second inning (after herding the boys all day from parade to pictures to warmup) I lost my voice.
Then, of course, it was an incredible see-saw game where we ultimately won. Emmett hit a two-run home run. Our pitchers were awesome, we got just enough hits and our defense was much much better than the first game where we got slaughtered.
So, we're now 1-1 and we've got another game on Monday. Tomorrow's going to be a long baseball day too. Emmett has tournament team practice from 8-10am, umpire a game from 10-Noon, then regular team practice from 5:30 to 7:00. Crazy. Then a Monday game.
I will be doing all my coaching with sign language and dance moves.
ION, Yay date #2!
yay date #2
yay home run
read ita's article and watch those dance moves
Now added to my long list of thing I never really envisioned googling: penile fracture. Thanks ita!
My sister, ever the anthropologist, found me a link to the daggerin' dance. NSFW rating: Elvis on American Bandstand had *nothing* on this.
It makes me feel so old...but that's not dancing. Not by a long shot.
No. It's dry humping. Or mostly dry humping.
Today I taught Saturday school (little toads didn't do their homework) and we had Grace and Noah's bday party and now I'm lying in bed. Too tired to do much else.
Yesterday? Had the best fish tacos ev-ah! So yum
flea, you must have missed my postings over the years on the subject of biological hydrostats and roadkill armadillo penises (it was an article in
Nature,
honest! Wrapping the armadillo's penis .)
How was the party, Kat? I can't believe your kids are so grown.
My sister wants me to do research for one of her projects. I'm currently researching research and it's making my head spin. Seems like I'm actually going to have to read the convoluted articles to help her out. She'd better make this worth my while. It's depressing (HIV interventions in men who have sex with men) stuff.
Does researching research mean looking at the methodologies people are using? I'm a freak, but I think that would be fun to read about methods!
The party was good. Lowkey. It's hard to have a kids bday party when you don't allow kids to attend (but understandable as it is a hospital-ish setting). Some of our friends who would normally be there ended up being too sick to come.
Grace practiced her standing trick for Polgara and wound herself up in cords in her bouncery thing. Noah was himself and all over the place. He's napping now, but it means his schedule is kaput. Oh well.
Tomorrow we're headed to the observatory and then we'll see. Maybe kidspace time, which is my fave.
thanks for asking.
How are you doing?
