Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

This is where I insert how totally pissed I still am with myself that I didn't just shell out the ~$500 for the original cel of the "Deny me and be doomed" piece of Hedwig animation. Years later - still burnt.

Dangit!

OTOH, your kids are going to inherit an incredible collection of original comic and animation art.

Saw that in a theater earlier this year. It's... odd. Basically an oral history as told by fans, some famous, some not. The band doesn't appear in the film, nor does any of their music. It was well put together, but I couldn't help thinking that it would have worked just as well as a book.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Quick survey: if you were to choose one song to represent Prince's 80s oeuvre, which one would you pick?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My first thought was Purple Rain, but I think When Doves cry might be my real answer.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm trying to think of something everyone would recognize and that unites party/sexual Prince and spiritual/serious Prince. "Let's Go Crazy," probably. (Although "1999" works, too.)

hip deep in pie

I'm tending towards "Let's Go Crazy" too. "When Doves Cry" would be my other choice.
