Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Weird that it says "Folk & Roll". I wonder if Nesmith would have answered the ad if it had said "Rock" instead.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

When I walked into Amoeba in Berkeley this afternoon they were playing "Daydream Believer."

Heads up: The Aquabats Super Show premiers Saturday on The Hub network. (The site says 1:00pm, but my DVR says 11:00am).

The leader of the Aquabats, The MC Bat Commander, was a co-creator of Yo Gabba Gabba.

I'm amused and confused by this one line in Salon's Breitbart obituary:

Breitbart claimed to have been radicalized by the Clarence Thomas affair, but it was really his favorite radio station KROQ’s transition from late-1980s-style post-punk (Breitbart adored The The and Echo and the Bunnymen) to early-1990s grunge that drove Breitbart to Rush Limbaugh, and conservatism.

He doesn't really offer any evidence to support his claim, I'm not sure if it was meant to be a joke or not.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

As a regular reader of Alex Pareene, I'm fairly certain it's meant as a joke.

Well, Breitbart did cite Cobain's suicide and self-destruction as the moment he realized his parents were right about... something.

Must have been nice, growing up in a happy bubble of privilege, unable to see the systemic issues of poverty and class that informed Cobain's life and death, and just seeing someone who made it big and offed himself.

(Weirdly, reading the quote from him on it yesterday provided me with a lot of clarity around the POV of people like that.)
