The Doors don't have the only version of "Light My Fire." Jose Feliciano has a version that smolders beautifully -- imagine Barry White covering anything by Prince (maybe "U Got the Look"), and you have the general idea. Will Young also tried his hand, but as much as I love Will Young's voice, he didn't do anything that Feliciano hadn't already done.
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I just saw the Feliciano version and downloaded it for when I can listen.
You guys, these are great. I had some of them (We Are the Champions, I am a Scientist), but I am mad at myself for not thinking of The Flaming Lips. And Schoolhouse Rock is brilliant, and led me to include some TMBG also.
The woman who started that is an old friend of mine (pun intended?).
Someone linked to it on FB, and I thought it was going to be a satirical site.

No, just self-aware. ;)
My pal Andrew writes for Rocker, too.
All that, and no "Firestarter" by Prodigy? Come on now.
I just listed the songs I have in iTunes.
Which reminds me--I should get a copy of "Firestarter" by Prodigy.
RIP, Davy Jones of the Monkees.
Listening to lots of Monkees via youtube.
So sad.
