Lovebox mini-festival this weekend! I'm really looking forward to Codeine Velvet Club, Paloma Faith and These New Puritans. No idea if any of them are good live. We shall see.
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Gah! I am horribly jealous of you getting to see CVC. That is probably one of my favorite bands lately and they are nowhere (well, they showcased at SXSW, but they aren't even on any of the internet jukeboxes in town) so I can't hear them as often as I'd like nor can I subject other people to my obsession!
GREEN WITH ENVY!!!
Also, they are my screensaver on the work computer (well Jon and Lou)! OBSESSED!
Daisy, eMusic has one self-titled CVC album that came out late last year. This is the one you have, right?
They're so good! It was seeing they were playing that persuaded me to get tickets this weekend. I can't believe Jon doesn't want to do any more with them after this set of live shows. I like The Fratellis, but Codeine Velvet Club is something really special.

Yep.
I think Jon is pretty wedded to his band (and I want more of their stuff as well) and Lou has her own stuff too. Maybe next time he has a break again they can do something.
Current obsession has been this [link]
Hmm - my antivirus software won't let me see that. Irritating!
Huh. It's just a youtube video. Lemme try to link another way. Try this page. 3rd video down (actually I like them all, but that's the one I linked to) [link]

eta: Oh, and Best Album Art of All Time
What I learned from that: Wired readers tend to like shitty music and art that belongs on the side of a 1978 Econoline.
