Awww, man, there's so much cool stuff happening around here I can't even begin to keep up with it. But for one, there's the Fundraising Bash at the Vulcan Complex in Oakland.

Do I really need to see a power trio with thrash metal chops and a buff, elfin lead singer/cellist rave through a song about a bird of prey while the lead singer dangles from the ceiling by his knees playing a solo on said cello whipping the crowd into a frenzy?" Am listening to a live version of "Crepuscule with Nellie" by Thelonious Monk. People are talking in the background. I wanna travel back in time to 1958 and yell at them - "Why the fuck are you talking during this awesome song?!?"

I think "Crepuscule with Nellie" is my favorite jazz song....

Fantastic song. That's probably from that Live At The Five Spot - Discovery album of Monk with Coltrane that was recorded on a cheap handheld by an audience member.
