0. Ontological honesty. It should be there so I'll listen to it.
1. Bass.
2. Melody.
3. Lyrics.
Huh. I tend not to notice the bass so much, except when it's doing something weird, like in Iggy Pop's "New Values" or much of Joy Division, where the bass plays the melody at a much higher pitch than normal.
