The Dead Weather
killed
kast night. I've heard better musicians but I've never seen a performance like the one Alison Mosshart put on last night. She spent much of the show up on one monitor or another (which really helped the view from the pit) writhing and contorting as she belted out the lyrics, reminding me of the love child of Jim Morrison and Patty Smith.
The weird thing was the number of people in the pit who kept complaining about the dancing. I was relieved when the full-blown moshing broke out. Who stands in the pit and expects to not get jostled? I even joined in for a little bit. Suddenly I was 17 again and having the time of my life.
I have most all my ducks in a row.
But I suspect they are in the wrong thread.
Heh.
That's what shortage of sleep will do to me.
Joe Pernice has a soundtrack to go with his new novel.
I really liked the novella he wrote for his 33 1/3 book on Meat is Murder.
And, of course, he's a fabulous tunesmith.
Suddenly I was 17 again and having the time of my life
That's what music should be all about.
Though, since I just recently became 24, I'm going with the "it makes me feel like an 8 year old all over again!".
The mosh pit looks scary from the outside but once you get in it's really a lot of fun. A couple of times people fell down but others grabbed them and hauled them back to their feet in an instant.
Music people - I just got a trial membership to emusic and thought that I'd downloaded several things but now I cannot find them on my computer. I used their dl manager - where do I love for them?
Or do I go to my account and save them from there?
On a Mac they get stored in a directory on your desktop. Dunno about windows.
Sumi, if all else fails, you can use the Windows Explorer search option to find mp3 files saved today.
