Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
What artist should I listen to? (Has to be something on my iPod.)
Mojo Nixon.
I don't have any Mojo Nixon. (Yes, my record collection could use some fixin'.)
eta: Anyway, I settled on Kristin Hersh's Learn to Sing Like a Star.
Kristin Hersh's Learn to Sing Like a Star.
WIN!
I gotta say that YLT v. Van Halen article was highly fraught with bullshit. Their snark was predicated on planes appearing in both videos, which is like saying that Das Boot is ripping off The Triumph of the Will because they both have Nazi soldiers in them.
Or it's like saying that Matthew Barney's Cremaster 1 is a total ripoff !!! of Black Sunday.
To be fair, I think the writer was just having a bit of fun and doesn't really believe it's a ripoff.
Oh. Ok, then.
I did NOT know that about "Got To Get You Into My Life." Huh.
