Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Season 2, Round 2, Bracket #1/2: Planes/Clowns--This is one of the top 3 quotes that gets stuck in my head from the show.

Lab rat.

Never should have come back.

Aquarius. Both of these were fairly "meh" for me, so I won't be sad to see one go in the next round, too.

Season 2, Round 2, Bracket #2/2:

What's dead should stay dead. Apparently, I strongly prefer pithy.

Adorable

Bitch/Jerk. This one was tough. But it's not just how Winchesters say "I love you" but also point to how much Dean hangs on that relationship.

Bossy

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I don't think they're out of character. I expect during his occasional breaks (like the one where he met Lisa), Dean indulged in a little relaxation.

I think it's because although we've seen him drink so heavily we haven't seen him drunk or hungover (unlike Sam)

We've seen him hungover at least once (Provenance, I believe), and possibly twice, depending on how you read the opening scene with Sam and Dean in Jump the Shark.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. Neither of these stuck with me. Just another reason for rewatch.

I guess I just don't see being stoned as something nostalgia-worthy for Dean. But maybe it's because it's something he can't do now.

I just checked the Provenance transcript, and it does have Sam startling Dean awake in the car (while he's wearing shades, IIRC), but no overt reference to a hangover.

It's acted very much like a morning after a bender.

Yes, this.

ETA: He probably normally drank in less quantities in the Provenance days. I am fairly sure he was meant to be hungover in that scene.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

S2R2B1

proud
Swayze
carrying
Vengeful Spirit

S2R2B2

supposed
adorable
self-destructive desire
bossy

Some of these were a leeeetle tough, but I am suddenly leaning more toward the emotional, painful lines.

His hangover is very different from Sam's though. He just startles awake and reprimands Sam (eta: Sam plays just as startled when he wakes up with the spoon in his mouth). I don't remember what episode it was, but didn't we see Sam puking? He doesn't seem to be impaired or in any pain at all. As hangovers go, it's very much a non-event.

If that's all he gets, then it still flies in the face of the I'm-so-fscked-up-still I see in fic. For some reason, I just don't get that vibe off him.
