Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ack! That CM crossover I linked to earlier is unfinished. Fuckery. Well written, too. Damned shame. Now I'm scared to read her other fics, because you really need to warn for abandoned, and she makes no such note in her master post: [link]

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I was wondering if you knew that, ita. I finished the first part, and went looking to see how much more there was.

I liked her voices in that fic, but I have started some others from her I didn't finish because there was something about the voices and or her writing style that put me off.

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

That is so frustrating. I love the authors who have multi-part stories all written before they start posting. I don't mean to be an ungrateful reader but I've been burned reading WIPs too often.

I'm not ensconced enough in fandom to appreciate WIPs as I'm likely to never know when there's a new post. I've been left hanging on a number of amazing stories when I haven't noticed it's unfinished before I start reading. I have way to short of an attention span to bookmark and remember to return for updates.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was such an old fic that it didn't occur to me that she wouldn't have marked it as such. I'm not mad at a writer who abandons their work, because hey, not my bitch (okay, shrift had a Highlander/Crow crossover she never finished yonks ago, and I still wonder about it woefully), tell a person up front!

I'm following a couple WIPs right now, which I don't usually, but they're crossovers and I can't help myself. I've set up LJ to email me when they post anything with the right tags, or I would lose them. But I'm going to be paying even more attention to headers, but I hate skipping ahead to the last posting, in case of spoilage.

Because books.

There are maybe two authors I'm willing to follow through a WIP, and neither one have ever abandoned a story halfway through. But I'm not a huge fan of multichapter fics anyway. I tend to like one-shots, and even then nothing over 10K words if I can help it. Good Big Bangs are my one exception.

There are two epic, well-written (and infamously unfinished) fic in SG1 fandom. Turned me off to WIPs. 4-evah.
