Kittens! [link]

For those not slashing, just ignore one leetle word and it's gen.

Spoiler warning for the fic it spawned from, the one ita linked to above, "Did What I Could, For One of Us".

shit on a shingle: I'm reading this fic and Dean says, “I'm just saying. Keep it secret, keep it safe.” in regards to Sam keeping his dick in his pants. Thank goodness the communion I'm here for already finished it's serious business because I'm laughing too hard.

Art Crawl!!!

When they enter Dean's Kitten on the turf - then you should spend your money. (Or so I hear.)

BTW, Ausiello has a sneak - but I think it is too plot spoilery for most of us.

Juliebird - are you reading Wincest at church?

Giggling at my grandfather's funeral is about as far as I'll take my blasphemy.

Dean/Castiel slash during a communion party in a NJ historical site.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

As one might expect, I now want a story about ... Dean and a kitten.

I haven't read Juliebird's fic link yet, but doesn't Dean and a kitten make total sense? Sam wears his heart on his sleeve and is open and receptive to the dogs that come along. I bet Dean however, never adopted a stray dog like Sam did with Bones. I bet he did feed stray kittens though. Maybe even petted one when they came close enough and no one was looking. Oh...maybe even brought a kitten in from the rain.

Rewatching a certain scene and reading a certain spoiler/ep description, I have come to realize that I really want Dean to say yes to Michael. So they can fight some more, but this time it would be epic.

Wait, no, I take that back, as I'm just now watching how easily Michael dispatched Anna in BttF2.

Dean and kittens? He would tell you he preferred cats but secretly has always wanted a dog.

There was a Dean + kitten story in Summergen last year. It was a little schmoopy, but enjoyable. (Man, I wish the author wasn't a flaming tool. I apparently can only read her stuff now if it's posted anon. And then I can't re-read it after the reveal.) Anyhow, for those who do not carry fannish shoulder chip bags, check out the SPN Summergen comm for it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh...maybe even brought a kitten in from the rain.

Sing and I Will Hear You: PG13 Dean/Castiel, with kitten. And rain.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Summergen signups have opened again. Hmm.... I'm finding that hobbies and deadlines are unmixy things, but still... I've had good luck with prompts in years past. But then again, waiting to sign up so as to tool one's "will not write" specs to fend off the more "Dear lord, NO!" prompts has helped.

The Dean + Kitten fic Plei referenced above is here. It also has a good John portrayal, which I always appreciate.

As for the author in question, I've only heard things second-hand. That said, one of the lovely things about anon exchanges is that all fics have an equal chance of being read, without preconceptions coloring one's opinion one way or another. Of course, it's also fun to try to identify the usual suspects by their styles, etc.
