Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And, uh, in my head I nominated you.

Awww, that's so sweet and delusional of you. The welcome to SPN kit would be awesome though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think people are allowed to interpret it that way.

There's a difference between interpreting something and saying "now it's canon" though, and that's really what I'm reacting to. I hardly think that comment was explicit enough to do anything other than hang a dream onto. It barely even rose to the level of fanbait for me. Unlike, say, all of Point of No Return.

that's so sweet and delusional of you.

I am still the nicest.

And filled with the desire to see lists. Like, top five SPN fics, and stuff.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Is reading way more into canon than has been said but I think people are allowed to interpret it that way.

See that is where I always thought the line was drawn that it left canon and went into fanon if there had to be interpretation.

Angel says to Lindsey, "I want you" and that is canon, however only the fact that he said the words are canon because he was talking about something else at the time that wasn't slashy. So anything slashy from it is fanon, right?

I'm starting to think I may be wrong about what I thought canon meant though. Can something be open to interpretation and still be considered canon?

Agreed.

Ten episodes from S1 would be: Pilot, Wendigo, Skin, Home, Asylum, Faith, Something Wicked, Provenance, Dead Man's Blood and Devil's Trap

They aren't necessarily my favorite ten eps of the first season but they are the ones that I'd rec to someone who hadn't been watching from the start and didn't want to watch them all.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I think I'm being too nitpicky about the word canon because

John drinks. Canon. John drinks too much. Canon but from a possibly a very unreliable narrator at the time. John was a less than stellar father. Pretty damn canon but subject to interpretation.

I would have said, "John drinks. Canon. John got drunk. Canon. John drank too much, canon only that Sam thinks so, but not canon that John did.
