I think I'm being too nitpicky about the word canon because

John drinks. Canon. John drinks too much. Canon but from a possibly a very unreliable narrator at the time. John was a less than stellar father. Pretty damn canon but subject to interpretation.

I would have said, "John drinks. Canon. John got drunk. Canon. John drank too much, canon only that Sam thinks so, but not canon that John did.

Angel says to Lindsey, "I want you" and that is canon, however only the fact that he said the words are canon because he was talking about something else at the time that wasn't slashy. So anything slashy from it is fanon, right?

Well, both characters immediately realized how slashy it sounded and backpedaled right afterward, so I think it's gone beyond fanon there though attributing deliberate intent to Angel would be.

Thankfully, "It's not me you want to screw. It's him." is canon and there was no backpedaling in that scene.

I could in no way give proper SPN fic recs. I'm meandering randomly around the library. I do note that most of what really catches my eye and drops my jaw tends to be D/C or pre-series. But I've only delicious tagged the D/C, it seems.
