I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Watched Devils Trap and In My Time of Dying, and I take back that John needs to come back for a Dean confrontation. I can't see the writers giving us more than has already been said. John apologized for Dean having to look after Sam and John both. Said he put too much on his young shoulders. Said he was proud of him. Told YED that his boys were the most important thing. What is left really?

I saw this part of IMToD when it replayed yesterday, and kind of thought the same thing. John actually says all the things we want to hear from him. But it's only a one-sided conversation, so it doesn't allow Dean the chance to tell John how his actions affected his life (not that Dean would even think of it at that point anyway). And Dean is not in the headspace to absorb any of it, what with having gone through the physical trauma (and years of normal Winchester life). But John does make the effort to actually say the words. I hope Dean remembers them somewhere.

Day player from clip is cute. Very interested to see what the point of that scene is. Interesting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Long time shenanigans, it looks like. Ergo angst. Whoohoo!

I had a fanfic trauma last night. Pairings on chapter 3? Not the same as the pairings on chapter 1. And I was way too into it to keep reading the author's notes each time. It was good writing, so I totally feel visually assaulted. I was expecting a fistfight. I am so naive...

Because books.

That's dirty pool. If the pairing is going to change, you should note it up front. If it's a WIP, though, I guess the author might not have known.

Nah, she knew--it was old and complete fic. Stealth Wincest. Quite the visual.

Well, that's bad fandom manners, is what that is.

I always forget how violent Simon Said is, because my clearest memories are the funny things -- Dean giving away the Impala, the van of stoned philosophizing.

And Wincest was the happy answer. I wanted to see them fight it out. It was Dean/Jess, fer crissake. It's supposed to be ugly.

The thing I remember most strongly about Simon Said was the bus crash. And it's the one where Dean holds the rifle to his head, right?

Yep, right up under his chin. God, the first time I saw it I was chilled to the bone.

More than the bus it's the sweet, grandfatherly doctor in the gun shop in Sam's vision for me. "It's all right, Dennis. It's all gonna be all right." And BLAM.

It still makes me clench every time I see it in a vid. Suicidal Dean gets right to me, even if it's against his control. Especially if it's against his control.

Abandoning Sammy!

Yes! I was terrified! And JA sells that face SO well, completely blank, not at all there, just waiting for the order.
