I'll be sure to give those stories a look. Sam/Castiel is usually something I read for crack, and Sam/Gabriel for the ultra crack.
As for angels being other--Gabriel certainly wasn't. I don't think distance was inherent. He was fully powered up and getting laid.
Off topic, but one day I want to write a total crack fic about the evolution of Sam's hair. I'm watching the first Gordon ep (why can't I remember episode titles lately?) and Sam's hair is as frightening as Gordon's sense of righteousness.
Ah, the Samhair. Can it truly ever be offtopic? His hair is the wonkiest in Everybody Loves A Clown, if memory serves. (scroll down)

Right? But I love that the writers are picking at loose threads and attempting to tie them up, or together, into something that's closer to a whole pattern.

I would also like to make a list of the number of times Sam asks Dean is he's high. It's probably not as many as it seems, but it cracks me up every time.
