It looked like Lana's first boyfriend to me.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

I am way more upset about losing Gabriel than I thought I would be.
But if God brought back Cas?
I'm grumpy that the other gods were so bloodthirsty, but I guess there's a reason Buddha wasn't invited. Still, Ganesh? Really? I can see Odin getting all bloodthirsty, and Kali getting messy, but Ganesh? Baldur?
I'm waffling on Lucifer plowing through them. I've come to the point where I'm just shit-scared of his potential, since he's not even in the meatsuit he wants, and he can kill gods and other angels without breaking a sweat. I get that.
I just think it's overall culture-fail.
At least Kali lived. Shee and Ganesh were my favourites.
This has got to have been the most pop culture heavy episode they've done, which is saying a lot.
Gabe! We didn't get to legitimately slash you!
Whitney of keep your friends close and the quarterback closer fame? I was having a hard time seeing his face clearly on my screen.
ita, agreed.
Lucifer did imply that sheer Judeo Christian aggression had given their pantheon the upper hand, but it was barely said. And they do have numbers.
But now I feel weirdly sad about the people WITH NO GODS.
Which is ultra-weird, because the SPN Judeo-Christians have been praying to an empty house since the start of S4, and I forgot to feel bad about that.
Plotline aside, I really liked the chemistry. I liked Sam and Dean together, and Sam being worried over and going with it, and being right that they shouldn't have stopped, I loved Gabriel and his choices, I loved Sam's reaction shots to all of Dean's ludicrous (but successful) bargaining, and Kali shutting Dean down, and hard. Good chemistry.
This is by the guys that did Dark Side Of The Moon. That was better. This had inherent flaws, but apart from decimating (I'm assuming not everyone showed up) the rest of the world's gods and painting that slice of them as savage (who was the blonde chick with no lines, anyway?) which is a big aside, I liked the rest.
And I always get a squee when Sam whips out his lockpick set.
I just think it's overall culture-fail.
I don't think Lucifer should have been able to mow down the other deities like that. Really, REALLY disagree with that bit of narrative.
Also, so the rest of the writers are big Gaiman fans, too, huh? American Gods, much?
And I always get a squee when Sam whips out his lockpick set.
It's the competence thing. And also? Hot.
American Gods, much?
All I am saying is that they better bring back Adam Jesse. You want to get this much of your Gaiman on, you bring back the awesome kid actor.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the episode a lot, and think it did some interesting things. (And oh, Gabriel! Whaaah!) But the killing of the other deities and the borrowing homage of American Gods pinged me hard.
I want Gabriel back (and the gods too, but especially Gabriel).
Maybe this will be the thing that gets God back in the game, and he'll start by resurrecting Gabriel (and the gods)
