You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

And that is way more than anybody was interested in on a Friday night.

nuh-uh. I liked hearing all the details. It makes me want to make my own.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

And that was way more than anybody was interested in on a Friday night.

I went to the end of Serenity with River and Mal again. "But I like to hear you say it."

Also what Laga said.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

S3 was persistently the worst for race and gender issues. It was a shortened season due to the strike, and the first half of it was stylistically jarring, thanks to a failed attempt by the network to bring the look of SPN into line with the rest of its ruthlessly bright-and-shiny-colored shows.

Yeah, I've heard S3 had some unfortunate issues. Luckily with the DVDs I'll be able to do some selective viewing.

Aaaaaand there we are. Thanks!

Executives used Daytimer pages and minimal tailoring. I went crazy with mine.

The person I went to Greece with did the same thing with her travel planning journal. It was really useful.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

You can ride my brother, but if you come near my car I will END THE WORLD.

Maybe Gabriel was onto something with his Switching Channels stunt. If Sam IS the Impala when Dean says yes to Michael, maybe it will amp up the protective big brother instincts enough to make the latter prioritize keeping Sam safe over flash-frying Lucifer.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Matt, hee!

Looking over the list, I find something that moves the arc along, speaks to the brother bond, to backstory, or foreshadowing in nearly every episode.

3.1 The Magnificent Seven - I disliked this episode, despite the introduction of the season arc and a wonderful character I'd love to see again.

3.2: The Kids Are Alright - If you've seen 5.22 you don't need to see this one, a plot synopsis will do.

3.3: Bad Day at Black Rock - I like this one a lot, and it introduces some recurring characters.

3.4: Sin City - This one is pretty solidly on theme for the season. I liked it, personally.

3.5: Bedtime Stories - Skippable, though I really liked it.

3.6: Red Sky at Morning - one really good scene and some fabulous sfx to geek over, if that's your thing. And boys in tuxes.

3.7: Fresh Blood - violent, but it ties up a secondary arc.

3.8: A Very Supernatural Christmas - must-see, for the bb and the backstory.

3.9: Malleus Maleficarum - ick.

3.10: Dream a Little Dream of Me - pretty solidly on the should-see list.

3.11: Mystery Spot - yeah, watch it.

3.12: Jus in Bello - ditto

3.13: Ghostfacers - lots of people hate this one. I find it refreshing and lots of fun, knowing how much the actors enjoyed doing it.

3.14: Long-Distance Call - enh. Skippable.

3.15: Time Is on My Side - ew, except for meeting a recurring character.

3.16: No Rest for the Wicked - necessary, but watch through the fingers at times.

My Totally Subjective List.

Because books.

3.16: No Rest for the Wicked - necessary, but watch through the fingers at times.

Watch through the fingers how? Because of the gore?

I wouldn't skip any of them if I hadn't seen the whole series, personally. I might not rewatch all of them later, but I would hate having holes.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Because Dean's insides aren't as pretty as his outsides?

I hate that season, but may rewatch due to discussion here.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Well, the physical and the emotional gore. It's pretty damned rough, but I think it's necessary for what follows.

Going through episode by episode, there were so many scenes that I wanted to lift, because of both the overarching series mythology and the season arc, or because of a brother bonding moment, or an element of backstory, or a funny moment, or a bit of clever dialog, or because of some geeky techical or digital wizardry. There were several eps I think are ultimately disposable, but they have a toad scene, or a panic attack, or a cougar scene--which bothered a lot of people, but I found uncomfortably funny, because of the actors involved. If I could cherry-pick scenes from S3 and stitch them together in a narrative whole, excluding some of the rage-making stuff, it might make me happy. But I realize, going through the list, that there's more there to like than I remembered. It's just some scenes that I hated. But I hated them a lot and they colored how I felt about the ep, which bled into my memories of the season.

3.13: Ghostfacers - lots of people hate this one. I find it refreshing and lots of fun, knowing how much the actors enjoyed doing it.

I loved this one, I must confess.

Because books.

I guess I'm easy? There's not one episode I hate. There are a few that bore me now, like Bugs, but even that I'd watch before almost anything else going.

And Show has never pushed my buttons the way it has with others, so. I can see the issues most of the time, I just don't really feel them.
