I could see if the emotional co-dependence made it inevitable, but I do still disagree. I don't think there has to be anything erotic there at all.
For me it's the pushing, shoving, grabbing, shirt fisting, and lack of personal space(which is necessary for filming) while intensely arguing nose to nose or yelling each other's names. I'm just saying that it is there for those that want to see it. It doesn't have to be acted out or taken out of subtext into text.
I don't lean in any ship direction and I saw them all being serviced.
This was my experience.
Well, my Sam/Castiel leanings didn't get any feeding, but last week was good for that.
I loved when Castiel told his "joke" his lingering look at Sam where he was so pleased with himself and waiting for him to find it funny. It wasn't just Dean that he was smiling at. :) It was funnier in Enochian.
I agree with Amy on the line being both fanservice and Zach being a prick and further weirding Adam out about his demandy brothers. I'm not taking anything that lying liar said as anywhere close to canon truth.
And What Theresa Said about Cas' lingering look waiting for Sam to validate the funny of his joke. They're really working at showing Sam and Cas working at building their own connection, and not just relating to each other because they both relate to Dean.

See, this would be hot, no question, but the Dean/Castiel is blinding. They can't exist simultaneously in my head.

I like this, too. A lot.
But honestly, why does a family have to have any sort of erotic dependence, whatever the gender makeup is?
I really only meant this in the context of fandom which seems to look for ships in the primary characters. I should have clarified that.
I agree otherwise with your point, families of any makeup should be eroticism free.
ETA: Whoops that might be going too far. Hopefully my meaning is clearer than I've stated it.
Aw. This is really cute and funny Dean/Castiel, but from Sam's POV. I want to correct some grammar and shift some verb tenses, but otherwise a fun read.
Ahahah! Sam POV Dean/Castiel is my favourite. I love exasperated Sam.
I don't believe in Sassy the way I believe in Dean/Castiel, but I really enjoy peeking at shadows in the text it could theoretically lurk in.
I love exasperated Sam pretty much anytime.
Sassy. Heh.
I love exasperated Sam pretty much anytime.
Which works out well, because he so often is.
Ah, JP's epic bitchface.
Which has made me want to link to bellanut's Samface picspams again.
LOVE those. Also loved this comparison of Wee!Sam. [link]
and another [link]
These are killing me. That is a great picspam by bellanut with treasures off every link.
Sam's broken teary-eyed face of doom! Whereas Dean kills me most when he's full on in tears, Sam kills me most when he's on the verge.
I so very much agree with this. Sam teared up last night and it just kills me. (Heh, I typed "kiss" instead of kill but caught the freudian typo)
This is going to be a fic filled weekend and I blame and thank you all in equal measure.
