Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
That was one of my favorite bits from that episode, Theresa.
I disagree. I think Dean was looking at Sam because he was thinking about Sam. At least the long bit, before the transition. Then it all sank in, the trust, the everything, and then he was communicating with him and the coolth began.
Exactly. And the way his face changed so slowly as he realized what he was going to do, and then the tiny hint of a smile, and the WINK! The wink sent me, man. So Dean.
We got two Dean winks last night. It was quite the festival. I was so agog at the line he threw to Cas about the eyesexing that I had to rewind, and I'm glad I did, because I missed that wink the first time round.
He was very sassy last night.
I did read in someone's LJ a comparison of both winks and how it was clear that one wink was sexual and the other was "you'll never tap this" but I do think that's going more than a little far with the source material.
Well, yeah, you guys said it better. I was just arguing that the look wasn't Wincest.
I'm still wondering about who the letter was to. The box had to go to Bobby because Bobby actually has an address. But the car? The coat? Bobby? Nah.
I hope the contents of the letter makes it to the DVDs as a special feature or something. They did a script once, so.
I actually the missed the wink at Castiel. I think I was so astounded I couldn't see straight for a minute.
Which brings me to the fact that I give in. I waited all day, I've worked, I've written, I've parented, now I'm rewatching. Before I explode.

Were they saying the wink to Sam was sexual, 'cause no. I didn't get that in any way.
If the wink to Cas was "you'll never tap this" it was the same as guys provoking each other and totally locker room teasing. It was just a provoking wink.
I'll argue that the subtext for both slashes are there all day, but I haven't seen anything that makes either text or any characters aware of the subtext.

He put the letter in the box. eta: OHHH! Do you mean he had it addressed to someone else (like Ben) to be delivered at a later time by Bobby! Cause that would be awesome!!

Yeah, they were. I can fill in between the lines in general, but to sex up that wink--that's doing serious wish-fulfillment work.
Filling inbetween the lines of Dean and Castiel, on the other hand, was made really damned easy. And sad. That fight in the alley--well, no, the beatdown, was such a heavy betrayal.
He put the letter in the box.
Yes, because it's all got to go somewhere. But to who? Is it going to Bobby, or Sam @ Bobby's house?
I'm not a fan of Wincest and I didn't see it in the context of the show last night. On the other hand Dean/Castiel was pretty loud.
I think, from what I've read and how I saw it, that last night's ep was very fan servicey but in an interesting and not too too way. Because whichever way you bend? That's what you can take out of it 'ship-wise.
He put the letter in the box.
The box had to be mailed somewhere. Really, Bobby is the only one with a concrete address. I don't think he'd send it to one of the random Post Office boxes. The letter was in an envelope and that could be addressed to someone else. eta: okay, what ita said.
Now, sure they may not be able to fall in love properly because of each other (and because where do you find a woman who'll deal with that shit?),
The thought that popped into my head was, someone who likes threesomes.

Because whichever way you bend? That's what you can take out of it 'ship-wise.
This was my take on it too. I don't lean in any ship direction and I saw them all being serviced. Sometimes I wish show wouldn't do it but then I remind myself they've been clever about it so far. Cleverness buys my forgiveness.
The show was about relationships and family. These men, related or not, are a family.
It's a family despite there not being a woman in site (unless you count Lisa which I don't). An all male family is bound to be erotically co-dependent.
I didn't read anything wincest-y in the staring scene in the beautiful room. My take on it was ita's as well. Dean realized something important while looking at his brother, it registered on his face and then he winked. It was awesome!
