Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

God, it's really painful. They made John hella complicated. Well, they made them all complicated.

Because books.

Poor Dean. Destined above all to lose at rock, paper, scissors.

If Kripke or Sera has him throw paper before the series is over, I'll send flowers.

I want to write one of Dean's trips to heaven that got wiped, and let him find John. Or retcon his time in hell and have him meet John there. Anything so they could have it out.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hasn't it been pretty well established that John got out of hell for good back in the season 2 finale?

Oh. Right. Damn it, Matt!

Man, the last scene of Jump the Shark is just killer. "You can take it any way you want." That hurts.

That's another thing I've seen people debating. But I was always assuming that he got out and didn't go back. After all, he was a righteous man, and he had that lightshow and everything.

I think at the time I wanted to think he got sucked up into heaven because of the lightshow and all. And because he broke out of hell to save his boys. But I'm not sure there's any actual canon, unless Kripke or someone says so.

Would Alistair have needed Dean in Hell and had the whole "I tortured your dad for 100 years and he never gave in" conversation with him if he still had John on the rack, though?

I know--demons lie--but it really sounded like he didn't have him anymore.

That's true. I wonder if the timing works. In terms of earth time equalling hell time.
