"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, I waited to watch this ep until today since I knew there'd be a huge break before I saw another new ep.

One quick comment: I thought Anna was supposed to represent a "Wings of Desire" style angel. There are limitations to this analogy, but the watching over humans for thousands of years and yearning to be human seemed to be that kind of theme.

I can't quite get around the separation of the angel and her grace, but I've decided not to think too hard about that.

If anyone's looking for good fic to tide you over hiatus, you can do a lot worse than this: [link]

It's novel-length (or at least novella, took me 3 hours to read), spins off after the end of season 3, and it's mostly the POV of Robin Wandell, who's the daughter of that hunter possessed!Sam killed in BUABS. It's fantastic, with great plot and even better characterizations. And I adored Robin: she's flawed and real and very very interesting. Loved it.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Thanks for that link, Suela! I started reading that story as a WIP, and lost track of it. I'm glad to find it again.

What's more impressive, that's July's first long story. There are lots of veteran writers who don't do as well with pacing and structure on such a long story. I'm gleefull at having found it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Ooh. Thank you for the link, Suela. That looks good.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

This line from Chapter 7 made me laugh out loud:

“I made a deal. And if you can’t handle that, I have a pot and a kettle that I will shove so far up your ass you will quite simply be dead.”

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, that was amusing.

Slice of Scifi has an interview with Misha Collins this week.

That I haven't listened to yet - so cannot do a spoiler warning.

dcp, yes. That so needed to be said.

I just loved Robin. I want to go drinking with her. She's almost too awesome, but it's built up believably, with her athleticism and her family history, so it worked for me. She's certainly no less believable than the Winchesters, so.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I took my SPN dvds with me over the weekend with the best of intentions and didn't get to watch one. I'll repeat the process over the holiday break and hope for better results.

One thing that has been bugging me since Thursday night is the *wink wink nudge nudge* that Sam threw Ruby when he was humbly taking credit for the plan. The words (about getting out of the way) were similar to their previous conversation which makes me think that Ruby played a bigger part in the planning stage than Dean will ever know. If nothing else, she inspired Sam and that endears her even more to me.
