"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Wasn't he up for Conan or some such thing and that was the reason he was growing it out? Seems like I read something of that not through a source but through fandom.

Because books.

I think he was angling for it, but he didn't get it. And it probably turns into a thing at that point -- Sam's got more on his mind than a haircut, one presumes.

I don't mind it on him, though. It's a far cry from the dorktastic hair of S1 of Gilmore Girls.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dean manages to get his hair cut, though.

I'm mostly attached to the long hair on him. There are a few instances in which it looks bad, but I think the volume suits him.

I'm curious to see what JA would look like with long hair at his age.

both boys look better on screen than in person

I've never had a chance to see either of them in person, but they both look great in studio shots and con footage. They're just doing cooler things as Sam and Dean.

I think S3 is the most awkward growing-in period in The Evolution of Sam's Hair. I love it right now.

JA's could be a *little* longer for me, but not much. His days as CJ on Dawson's are also sort of dorktastic imo. Also, longer hair on him brings out too much pretty. Again, for me.

Ack! There was a visual image that I could have left buried.

I think this is it for me. I haven't seen JP, but did JA and he was just very very ordinary which made me miss Dean and appreciate JA's acting.

Yeah, I wasn't really into him on Dawson's (the one or two episodes that I saw) nor Smallville. I thought Eric (DooL) was cute, Ben was pretty, and Alec was pretty and had great attitude.

I don't think JA's face is as unlined and pretty as it was when he had the longer hair before, which is why I'm curious. It's perfectly possible he'd become all pouty lips and heavy lashes again, but for curiousity's sake I'd be willing to scrutinise the evidence.

Can I just say I don't envy the life of an actor any (except the paycheque--I just wouldn't want to do the work for it), but I do wish there were some way I could get paid to learn to at least nominally handle all those weapons. Colin talks about his time kibbitzing with FBI guys one one of his series and firearm handling there, and the jealousy was rife. Oh, the stuff JA and JP have had to learn.

I used to be jealous of stunt people, but then I realised how damned fragile I was, and that krav was as far as I could take the heavily physical part of it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Once again, I'm reminded - that boy is tall!

Because books.

Yeah, even today in LDC, the way JA takes the gun away from the other guy in the fight, releases the clip, and tosses it away was so natural, like he's being doing it forever. And whatever that tic is with tapping the clip before aiming, I have no idea if that's a JA thing or a Dean thing he devised, but ... it makes me hot all over. ::smiles pretty::

JA looks fantastic to me in con photos -- so relaxed and so very much not!Dean, it's really noticeable. The one time his hair was longer at a con recently it caught me off guard, but yes. I would agree to look at any and all photo evidence of JA's different styles for purely scientific purposes. Because I'm generous like that.

I have the same feelings towards the weapons. I think that would be the one thing that I would enjoy. Keep in mind that I don't handle weapons at all so it is even more of a forbidden pleasure. It would just feel empowering and be fun to learn how to even hold the arsenal that the boys tackle.

Obvs you probably don't have similar items laying around but could Colin show you some things just for kicks? I can see me: "Show was great, but can you show me how you did that thing with the knife?" hee.

I am jealous of you doing the krav and Suzi doing the karate. I know I would feel on top of the world, but I don't think I could handle the pain. Anyone hits me and I would immediately lose any illusion of my bad ass self.

That's exactly the visual that's freshest in my mind, although I continually love how they clear rooms. Having been taught how to do that, it makes me wibbly to see it done with authority, and they both do it really well.

And there is, of course, the weapons toss in...Hookman? Which I still maintain is a really dumb thing to do, but that doesn't make it not hot.
