Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

I think I remember that after "Family Remains" people here were mentioning the "Home" episode of X-Files. I was just looking through next week's TV Guide (the one with the Obamas on the cover) and they mention it:

"Family Remains," the January 15, 2009 Supernatural episode about a haunted house, was inspired by the controversial "Home" episode of The X-Files, which chronicled the murderous deeds of an inbred rural family. "That episode was so disgusting [Fox] could only air in once [in 1996]," Gamble says. "We like to be grossed out. So we were inspired to dig deep and find our own disgusting."

Home was the first episode of the X-files I ever saw, and it took me about a year before I watched another one.

Ha! Oh, that's funny, Perkins.

Because books.

"Home" is awesome in its horror. It's a fabulous episode, and it's just magnificently creepy. It also made a lot more sense than "Family Remains," in its own disgusting way.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

It still gives me the wig, on the infrequent occasion it comes to mind. Brrrr.

There was one nice moment of Scully and Mulder sitting on a bench and talking about whether or not they (individually) want kids. Other than that, yeah, the entire episode gives me a wiggins. I keep having the image of that mother being rolled out from under the sink, her eyes bulging, and all the shrieking. And then I have to quickly go to my Happy Place.

I love you, Sera, but the only thing gross and disgusting about "Family Remains" was the poorly developed script. If they were trying to emulate the deliciously twisted horror of "Home", they missed by several hundred country miles. :-/

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Man, Home was an awesome episode.

It was just so classically, perfectly X Files in its wrongness.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Absolutely. Just not, you know, as the first ep.
