I've done papers on urban legends. No way in hell does a horror show make a big deal about a dog licking someone's hand in a darkened room if it's actually the dog doing the licking.
I thought that is why the girl said Casper the pervy ghost.
Huh. I think they just made wincest definitely non-canon.
I missed something, didn't I?
When Sam was trying to explain the girls parentage to Dean, then Dean's realization was one of shock and "Gross!" Then Sam's reply was that the guy was a "monster."
Oh Yeah I meant to go back and edit that. Last night I somehow didn't parse the "non", which kind of changes things a little.
For those who iTunes, the ep's up.
Wow. This has been one of the outright creepiest episodes.
Oh my God, for serious. I'm not usually scared by the show, but I was watching it late at night in an unfamiliar house in an unfamiliar city, and it creeped the goddamn hell out of me.
Wow. This has been one of the outright creepiest episodes.
Yeah, it was. Which made me really happy, even if after the episode I stopped and went "Wait, that didn't really hold together or make any sense".
Gold standard for current horror theatrical releases, nu?

Jilli is me. Creeptastic, but not sure if it will holdup on rewatch.
On rewatch there are definitely holes you can drive a truck through. All of which require liberal application of handwavium (the feral twins' advanced language skills, for sure, as well as correctly spelled graffiti) but it was still fun.
And I never mind Sam and Dean having to deal with horror that *isn't* supernatural, but in this case I thought they could have done more with it. How much of a monster do you have to be to torture people after years of abuse? How much of a monster do you have to be to enjoy it? How much of a monster are you if you do it to family?
I agree, Amy. I scratched my head at the idea of two feral young people who could write (and use the word "too" correctly). So my question for the writers is how is it they can spell and not speak? How are they so feral and yet knowledgeable and cunning? Too many disconnects and just very sloppy characterizations.
As far and Sam and Dean's handling of this case goes, hunting the living isn't exactly their bailiwick, so I'm taking their borderline ineptitude with a wheelbarrow of salt.
Dean's second heart-to-heart with Sam in as many episodes was meaningful in the context of Dean's intense drive to save people and, as revealed in the epilogue, try to fill that hole inside of him. But I do think this admission comes too closely on the heels of the his revelation to Sam at the end of "Heaven and Hell". It would have been better if this part of Dean's struggle was handled in a later episode.
Good discussions, guys!
