Jesus, Misha is just SO ADORABLE! With the disarming glee at his acquisition of an army of adoring minions. He makes me laugh my socks off, with his Twitter posts. Bless him. He's so relaxed and silly about this stuff, and Jared appears to be too, for the most part, from what little I've seen - just having fun with it. Which is awesome.

And then there's poor Jensen, who always seems uncomfortable and earnest and defensive, under a veneer of politeness and professionalism. Except when he feels in his comfort zone of me-and-my-buddy and gets carried away with the silly. Poor wee scone. Honestly, my reactions to Jensen are divided pretty equally between (1) admiring the hell out of his acting chops, and the integrity he brings to his performances, and reflecting on that in relation to my own acting*; (2) feeling sorry for him with the whole feeding frenzy make-nice-with-the-scary-fen side of his job, which he clearly doesn't much love; (3) being pole-axed afresh by the sheer astonishing volume of pretty each time I see him, either being himself or in character. Because - Christ on a pogo stick, that is some SERIOUS pretty. Like, Johnny Depp level pretty, Marilyn Monroe level pretty - SERIOUS, astonishing, can't-help-objectifying-and-fetishising-him-because-he's- just-that-damn-pretty pretty.

I think Jensen has a Interview-or-talk-to-fans character that he goes into when he needs to be in public. It's not the same completely unguarded person that you saw when he was grinning after "Eye of the Tiger". I don't blame him at all, but I do want to give him a blanket and some soup.

You know what bugs me about how pretty the Js are? I've had to create an entirely new category of celebrity crush for them. And it's spreading, like a damn disease.

There used to be two categories of actors, those that were crushable (and therefore fuckable) and those that weren't. So, screensavers, NC-17 fic and lusty thoughts for the first group, and the cutting room floor for the rest.

Now, now, I've got a new group that I find disturbing to my self-image. It's the "must pinch their cheeks and feed them soup" group. WTF? Brain? Libido? What is wrong with you? Even perfectly fine men like Mark Harmon in my own damn age group are falling into that latter category. Not fair! I say, just not fair at all. The worst fucking thing about turning 50 was discovering this new type of crush. It's downright demoralizing to ego.

He really, really is. And time is kind to that man too. Age looks good on him.

It does feel all kinds of awkward turtle because he's a damn good actor and then I am sometimes gobsmacked because he's very, very pretty.

I watched the two-hour finale of Harper's Island tonight, and recognized Alex Feris, wee!Sam in Something Wicked, as young Henry. Also, Ryan Grantham ("Kneel before Todd!") played young JD. Canadian actor bingo starts early!

I watched, too, Bev. The series was chock-filled with Supernatural recurring stars and guest stars. Apart from the storyline, it was kind of fun just to sit there and guess which episode of Supernatural that particular actor appeared in. :-)

It was like a Supernatural reunion!

Katie, of course, and Jim. The chick who played Katie's sister was in Wendigo. Then Ronald from The Usual Suspects. And Richard Burgi was in Friday the 13th with Jared!

I feel like there were more. Hmmm. And I *thought* that kid that played little Henry looked familiar!

Gina Holden (Wendigo, "That Hailey chick") played the Goth secretary, Corinne, in Blood Ties. She was also in the brief remake of Flash Gordon on Scifi, and she was in the Kinkade movie with Jared. I like her a lot. She modeled for a while in Japan, has a background similar to Misha's actually.

Sail, unfortunately, I'm with you on the avuncular crush thing. Is there a feminine version of avuncular? If not, there should be.

And Fay, this is one of my favorite vids of Jared and Jensen together. The way Jared watches Jensen--obviously there's tremendous affection there. This was at LA con in the spring, right after the season wrapped. The infamous con where a fan asked a completely uncool question and left Jensen floundering for anything to answer. From backstage, "I'm coming to save you!" and Jared came onstage with coffee for both of them and clowned around until Jensen regained enough equanimity to dance offstage singing "He's got jungle fever, he's got jungle fever!"

I shudder to think what the working conditions on the show would be if those two didn't like each other. It would have sunk like a stone, I'm convinced, without their personal chemistry.
