And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Because books.

I was happy to see Jodi again, but yeah -- I keep thinking they need to wrap up Metatron and the First Blade, and I'm completely forgetting about Crowley and Abbadon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think Jodi did very well, and damn! Are those makeup people trying to tell us Dean and Sam are super powered? That was some ugly (and great!) bruising she was displaying.

I like that she cut to the emotional core in a way the boys wouldn't have been able to--I thought she might be able to mother Annie Alexis Anna into loving her and humanity more, but mom-reading the pack leader was even better. So she wasn't just the hero, things about her made her heroic.

Should I sign up to do art for SPN-J2 big bang? Last time I dropped out because I couldn't find a story. I guess I could do that again this time.

I'm just looking for a reason to do related pictures, and it will be some time until the D/CBB comes a knocking...

Anyone doing any challenges of any sort?

What do you mean? They weren't the ones who hit her.

They never bruise like that and keep chatting through a scene. They barely get eye damage makeup.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Except for the times when Dean is beaten to a pulp by an angel.

I think only the Lucifer beatdown competed.

I was just thinking that some writers could do with a pre-series FAQ. Things like: They'd never fought vampires, Dean has been to New Orleans...little stuff like that which throws me right out of a story. Lists of monsters they seemed familiar with, ones they didn't...you know.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, that'd be good.

Loved seeing Jody again - and I am so happy that they didn't kill her.

Just sayin'

Promo: looks dorky.

Comments I've seen recently:

  • "It's no coincidence they keep choosing motherhood to draw parallels with Dean since he was Sam's maternal figure." Can't you just give Jodi her story? The themes about betraying or being there for family are general enough to apply to the boys--getting mother of the year allusions to Dean is really reaching and why I don't read some recaps/analyses.
  • "I hate how they now overcompensate with women to too little too late apologise for sexistly killing most of them all off." We've had Bobby-centric episodes. Garth-centric episodes. How does this one vary in tone or quality to scream "overcompensation" rather than "Hey, who likes Jodi?"?

I've started dipping into the anon meme again to get an overview of fandom (they report/complain about things happening in other places). They're the source of the second one. The first was a comment on IO9 by someone lauding the type of analysis (way more than a recap) that puts too much faith in the intent of components of the show that I think are way too...I don't know. Make a distinction between imply and infer, I'm just saying.

I ended up signing up for J2SPN. Worst comes to worst I don't get a story like last year. So no one here doing any bangs or challenges?

I'm pretty Winchestered out when it comes to fic.
