Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

Oh, that is hilarious! I would play with that all the time. And not in a porny way. And when I wasn't playing with it, I would store jewelry and hair gee-gaws on it.
At about the 3.21 mark, this video from the Burbank con gets really really cute.
Apparently Rob Benedict wasn't feeling well at the Toronto con, and Speight and Jared and Jensen took him to the hospital--a good thing, since he was having a stroke. He's recovering, expected to make a full recovery. He was at Burcon, but was unable to play with his band, Louden Swain. But he hopes to be back with the band soon.
I don't know if any of you are aware, or care, that Speight contacted the studio, asked for and got the red "plum smuggler" shorts Dean wore in Afterschool Special. He's been wearing them with the white polo and red headband at cons for a couple of years now. He and Matt Cohen host Friday Karaoke Night at the cons, Richard wears the gym teacher suit, Matt had a cheerleader skirt made to match and wears it with a matching white polo.
At this con they auctioned Matt's costume for charity, and Richard decided to retire the red shorts. They held an impromptu ceremony.
Speight really is the best reason to attend a SPN con. Glad to see he's mentoring Matt Cohen into making a career of it, too.
Anybody besides me in danger of their eyes rolling out of their head at the correct method of killing a singular Roman god being available on the internet with a few clicks? If it had been pure speculation that worked from Bobby or the Campbell's library, maybe...
Aw, that is cute, Bev. They're adorable.
I thought the episode was weirdly kind of boring. Or predictable, maybe -- I figured out who the "dragon" was early on. And Dean actually seemed a little skeevy to me in this one. I mean, yay for consensual adults indulging in pleasure, but it just didn't seem like Dean to be that tone-deaf. And the sex description was of watch from the hall after a minute, and out of character, too.
It feels like this season is stuck or something. It all seems a little disjointed, and I keep waiting for an actual sense of impending doom in terms of the angels, or Abbadon.
Well, more news from Burcon, the Js told the crowd that they were, for the first time ever, meeting with the writers, together, today, and they were excited about it. They didn't say why, and they didn't say if the writers had called them in or they had asked for the meeting. But a lot of folks on my various flists have voiced the expectation and hope that J&J may be fed up with the direction the show's been heading, or the ball-dropping in the scripts. Farty donkey at the Grand Canyon when they were kids? Really? When canon says they've never been to the GC? And other stuff that has gone *directly* against previous canon. I know, actors, and as such, they're not too responsible for canon, they just show up and say the lines.
But kittens are on either the honchos are sidelining a character, firing an actor, or the Js are seeking some say in the season arc, or in the scripts, or both.
Bev, that's what I posted here: Amy "Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?" Nov 26, 2013 7:12:51 am PST
The person who tweeted it seemed to think the Js were unhappy with Dean's story arcs.
Who would be in danger of being fired?
All the recurring actors seem to be both beloved by the viewers and doing a good job in their roles, so I can't imagine any of them being fired. I also can't imagine the Js working in tandem to cost someone their job (much as I'd like them to give the nepotism twins the heave-ho from the writers bullpen).
Sorry for the repeat, Amy.
No, I didn't think they were being called on the carpet for firing. More along the lines of one or the other wanting to greatly reduce his role, or leave altogether, and discussing ways to make that happen. Pure speculation on my part.
Most other folks concur with you that Dean's storyline is the most likely topic for discussion. For me, I'd like to see Sam have some agency, let him make some friends other than Jodie Mills, step into the role of rescuer and/or caregiver for Dean, and let Dean have a story of his own that doesn't revolve around saving Sam (or killing him). I'm tired of Sam *always* being the damsel and Dean *always* revolving around Sam's crises.
