Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Well, more news from Burcon, the Js told the crowd that they were, for the first time ever, meeting with the writers, together, today, and they were excited about it. They didn't say why, and they didn't say if the writers had called them in or they had asked for the meeting. But a lot of folks on my various flists have voiced the expectation and hope that J&J may be fed up with the direction the show's been heading, or the ball-dropping in the scripts. Farty donkey at the Grand Canyon when they were kids? Really? When canon says they've never been to the GC? And other stuff that has gone *directly* against previous canon. I know, actors, and as such, they're not too responsible for canon, they just show up and say the lines.

But kittens are on either the honchos are sidelining a character, firing an actor, or the Js are seeking some say in the season arc, or in the scripts, or both.

Because books.

Bev, that's what I posted here: Amy "Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?" Nov 26, 2013 7:12:51 am PST

The person who tweeted it seemed to think the Js were unhappy with Dean's story arcs.

Who would be in danger of being fired?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

All the recurring actors seem to be both beloved by the viewers and doing a good job in their roles, so I can't imagine any of them being fired. I also can't imagine the Js working in tandem to cost someone their job (much as I'd like them to give the nepotism twins the heave-ho from the writers bullpen).

Sorry for the repeat, Amy.

No, I didn't think they were being called on the carpet for firing. More along the lines of one or the other wanting to greatly reduce his role, or leave altogether, and discussing ways to make that happen. Pure speculation on my part.

Most other folks concur with you that Dean's storyline is the most likely topic for discussion. For me, I'd like to see Sam have some agency, let him make some friends other than Jodie Mills, step into the role of rescuer and/or caregiver for Dean, and let Dean have a story of his own that doesn't revolve around saving Sam (or killing him). I'm tired of Sam *always* being the damsel and Dean *always* revolving around Sam's crises.

It's okay -- it's what ita and I were disussing above!

I can't imagine either one of them believes the show would survive if his role were significantly reduced, but I can see them wanting to change up the storylines, especially with regard to Dean.

I'm still surprised by how skeevy I found Dean in the last episode, and I'm sort of disappointed one of the female writers was responsible. The entire plot seemed like an excuse for sex jokes and Dean being gross.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yeah, I think Dean is sexxxay, but I was all, "Lighting a candle and you got game?" and then the girl was all "I've been a chastity coach, but an hour with you, and YEEHAW!"

It seemed cheap and sophomoric.

I was looking forward to sexy jokes, but this was Beavis and Butthead level of humor.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

On top of the cheap sex jokes, I have difficulty believing that Dean would be stupid enough to ignore something like 5 calls in a row, to each of his cell numbers, which would have to indicate that Sam was fairly desperate about getting in touch with him because he was about to get laid. They were in the middle of a job, and regardless of the porn tapes and all, he takes the jobs seriously.

Art Crawl!!!

I have randomly decided that Sheriff Mills and Abbie Mills (Sleepy Hollow) are related. Possibly cousins-- keeping the kick-butt Mills family law enforcement officers all in the family.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I had a sudden flash where Sam, in order to find Dean, deliberately breaks his renewed chastity with Jody. (I'm actually still unlcear on how Jody killed Vesta or whatever her name was, since she's not a virgin and denied renewing the vow --unless it was her recent situational abstinence that did the trick?) Just, I'd love to see Sam fall into bed with her, recreationally, hunter to pseudo-hunter.

Right now, my issue with Dean is how fast he fell into bed with a woman after the Amazon fiasco. I just thought he'd be a little more gunshy after that.

So happy that he at least tried to tell Sam the truth. But I gotta wonder what the heck Zeke is doing in there if Sam is still that fucked up inside. I can get behind slow angelic healing process from a damaged angel, but, then shouldn't he be sicker, and not just tired and unable to recharge his batteries?
