Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
You'd want to make sure the person is good with small children and most importantly is willing to watch over one for an entire evening.
She thinks she asked him, I bet. She's hella loosey goosey, but I remember listening in to a conversation between a telecommuting new mother and the VP of her department. The VP was saying that she couldn't hand her kids off fast enough to anyone who stood still so she could get back into the office as soon as possible, and the new mother sounded like she barely let the father touch the kid. I know it's not nice to laugh at people's parenting choices, but their mutual disbelief was
hysterical.
No pun intended...
And she thinks the kid would sleep? Dunno.
I want to say that's my favourite episode of the season, but if I rewatched the season so far I am pretty sure I'd find a tie. But Misha worked the hell out of the plaintive kitten look, and Cas had so much sincerity and desperation--he must have been so...something to finally have instructions again, and boundaries.
The Team Free Will Fanart tumblr is doing another challenge--human Impala. Interesting that she's non-white in a lot of them. I'm playing with doing a picture for it with these character designs doodled today: [link] and [link] We'll see if I follow through.
Matt, did you ever do the besieged Kevin picture you described?
Nope, work began eating me from the bottom up soon after the idea hit. I don't think I've drawn anything that wasn't on deadline since then, aside from doodles during the many, MANY conference calls I've been on.
Ah, that's a shame. Well, if it ever comes to be, I'm fascinated to see it.
I was reading the worst OOC+fixit D/C fic that had the worst summary for the lulz, but then I got to this sentence:
He hadn’t lied to his brother in a while. He no longer saw the point. They were both grown adults and he didn’t need to keep things from him.
And it was officially too much. I just want to take their remote control and turn their TV off.
(I skimmed ahead, and ouch. I feel mean for even looking.)
I have a theory that the Greatest American Hero tune may not have been entirely random. It does contain the lines, which Cas did sing, "I never thought I would feel so free, Flying away on a wing and a prayer..." Unless I know the writer specified the song I'm not going to assume foreshadowing or anything. Because, if left to his own devices, I'm sure Misha is quite capable of picking the song both for it's camp quality and for the lyric.
I'm surprised there's much discussion about the song. I have no idea what Greatest American Hero is, but I'm familiar with the melody, and I knew that there were wing and prayer references coming up in the lyrics. If I were recently an angel, there's a decent chance I'd have remembered the words whenever it was I out-of-context heard them.
It's cute, it's apropos, and it doesn't require an act of Congress (or congress, as I'd first typed, but now I imagine him spooning and watching whatever it is (no need to explain, I'm not actually curious) with April) for him to gain the knowledge.
Pretty much what I'm thinking, despite the level of portent some viewers seem to be giving the song choice.
Lots of things keep popping into my head--Cas bloodied his hand and started drawing the sigil behind him and blind. That's kinda badassed, no?
How much does he still have in his noggin? Maybe he can read the stuff they gave Crowley? I know Dean decided he didn't want him involved, but did no one even bring it up to have it quashed?
Poor noodle. Poor noodly noodle.
This is how I went for Baby.
If you guys think it's inappropriate for me to post fanart here, just say--I won't be hurt. I figure it might be better suited to here than fanfic, but maybe there just isn't a place for it. I can see that.
Appropriate, as older engines do smoke, no matter how in tune you keep them. She's badass. I like her.
Also, yeah, SPN art should go here, I think. Weren't we told to keep all SPN fic, vids, and RP stuff here in thread? Possibly to avoid getting SPN cooties elsewhere? I may be misremembering.
I really like that, § ita §.
As for art going here, I say yes. Same for vids and other SPN fanworks, if the fic discussion resides here.
When it comes to SPN fic being kept here, a couple of years back, I made a peevish comment about keeping fic discussion out of the show thread while the show was airing. I won't say I got piled on, but people got justifiably emotional (bad memories of the Boxed Set embargo) and I got some comments and pushback that at the time made me feel like crawling into a hole and never coming out. The upshot was, many people felt strongly that their enjoyment of fic was a huge part of their enjoyment of the show, and that SPN fic discussion could overwhelm the fic thread the way SPN overwhelmed (according to some people) Boxed Set. So, keeping it all in-thread was more of a group decision. Not one I necessarily agree with, but one that I can understand and accept easily enough.
Anyhow, § ita §, assuming all things SPN stay here, any thought to the idea to opening up the fanfic thread to fanworks in general?
I like her, ita. Especially love the tats.
I'm happy to see anything SPN-related here, although I agree with Anne about the fanfic discussions a lot of the time. The really in-depth discussion of particular stories doesn't interest me because I don't read most of it, but that just comes down to skipping over it really.
