Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe he's trying to finish the de-demoning process. Maybe he's giving in to human the way Cas did?

I do have to say, I *loved* that episode on first blush. It killed me seventeen different ways, doubled up on my Misha love (quantify that if you can) and...yeah. I do not know the angel arc, I don't know if Crowley told the truth (I see zero reason Sam should believe him), but the demon side is shaping up FUN. P-A-I-N FUN.

Although, how did he know that song? I don't think that show has even been in reruns in years.

My personal theory is that it plays on the PA system at the convenience store. If you've ever worked in retail and had the same soundtrack played day after day after day after day until it drilled into your brain, you know what I'm talking about.

I think this is throwing up more fics on AO3 than when Zeke threw Cas out. But this was sadly cute and cutely sad, and also sad, so maybe they need to fix more. Also, Dean fixed Cas up for a non-date, so they must have been beside themselves.

I stumbled into Tumblr Famous which is a D/C BLACK HOLE. Don't do it. Plaintainleaf is pretty much always good, but now she has a prompt:

Kevin starts a blog entitled, "Ew no pls," and the whole thing is just pictures of Cas and Dean passed out on each other around the bunker or being particularly gross and affectionate. He has over a million followers. He is a god.

With the twist of Supernatural fans thinking it's Sam and Dean and THEN Dean and Cas falling into Destiel, with bonus links to art (hey, Artmetica! Still a little wooden, VERY pretty though) and now I'm stuck back deep in rageprufrock's Girlfriend Experience which is some of the hottest D/C I have read period. And I still need to get back out of that to see which one of them is even reading it--I think it's Cas, poor noodle.

It's all very wibbly wobbly. But I'm finding new stuff through it, not just old good porn--I've been drawing the boys kissing for a month, and if I'd done one as pretty as this I might have cried and called the month early. God, the emotion, the resemblance...I need to go overwork my lines. Thank dog I've already set tomorrow's to publish...can't ruin that...

That was my take on it. That for all his bravado he wants back the human feeling he had while Sam was working the ritual on him. (Having been deposed with his unkillable successor waiting in the wings might make the option more attractive too.)

My goodness Cas is cute when he is confused, which is kind of his thing, but oh, dear Cas, you are hurting my heart. I like that I'm thinking fondly of this episode the next day. I don't necessarily like that I'm humming the theme to Greatest American Hero. I bet Morgana was right. He totally heard it at the convenience store.

I didn't ask last night, but who the hell asks someone to do them a favor by babysitting an infant the way Cas' boss did? You'd want to make sure the person is good with small children and most importantly is willing to watch over one for an entire evening.

She thinks she asked him, I bet. She's hella loosey goosey, but I remember listening in to a conversation between a telecommuting new mother and the VP of her department. The VP was saying that she couldn't hand her kids off fast enough to anyone who stood still so she could get back into the office as soon as possible, and the new mother sounded like she barely let the father touch the kid. I know it's not nice to laugh at people's parenting choices, but their mutual disbelief was hysterical. No pun intended...

And she thinks the kid would sleep? Dunno.

I want to say that's my favourite episode of the season, but if I rewatched the season so far I am pretty sure I'd find a tie. But Misha worked the hell out of the plaintive kitten look, and Cas had so much sincerity and desperation--he must have been so...something to finally have instructions again, and boundaries.

The Team Free Will Fanart tumblr is doing another challenge--human Impala. Interesting that she's non-white in a lot of them. I'm playing with doing a picture for it with these character designs doodled today: [link] and [link] We'll see if I follow through.

Matt, did you ever do the besieged Kevin picture you described?

Nope, work began eating me from the bottom up soon after the idea hit. I don't think I've drawn anything that wasn't on deadline since then, aside from doodles during the many, MANY conference calls I've been on.

Ah, that's a shame. Well, if it ever comes to be, I'm fascinated to see it.

I was reading the worst OOC+fixit D/C fic that had the worst summary for the lulz, but then I got to this sentence:

He hadn’t lied to his brother in a while. He no longer saw the point. They were both grown adults and he didn’t need to keep things from him.

And it was officially too much. I just want to take their remote control and turn their TV off.

(I skimmed ahead, and ouch. I feel mean for even looking.)
