I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Nice save, Kevin!

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

So the teen girl...she's possessed?

Yeah, I just came here to ask if anyone else was nervous about Daisy Dukes getting in the car behind Dean.

I'm not buying the "Kevin is family" emotionally. Maybe it's because it lacks enough time to make up for Dean and Sam (mostly Dean) treating him like a tool and like shit, and not enough warm moments (or any warm moments) to make up for any of that like there was with Cas. I like that the sentiment is there, but I'm not feeling that it was earned by Show.

Because books.

You don't think all the times Sam and Dean were concerned about Kevin while he was translating -- telling him to sleep, telling him to eat -- and the fact that he was Dean's first priority when he got back from Purgatory counts?

I'd have to rewatch, but . . . I never got the warm fuzzies from that, more of a tough-love "we need our tool functional" vibe. Maybe it's just that I never warmed to Kevin that I don't buy that the Winchester's did.

Because books.

I don't think they deny how important his role is, but I never felt they treated him like a tool.

I also don't think you have to get the warm-fuzzies from their interactions to get that they're committed to him as one of their own. Neither Dean or Sam is particularly sappy, even with each other.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think that Crowley was telling a very important emotional truth to Kevin, but Dean was telling a more important one. And without Sam!

Which he probably thinks he has to, because...Zeke. And stuff. And betrayal. But hey! Get out of hell free card!

Everyone's doing a great job (well, the extra hunters were irrelevant). Huffman, Chau, Shepard--all great tonight, but J2 knocked it out of the park.

When Dean asked if Sam would come with him into the trap and Sam was basically "Hell's yeah!" I got one of those wibbly feelings in my stomach that I love fiction to give me.

Thanks show!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think if Dean had his way, he'd be adopting stray hunter children left and right.

With the occasional vampire and fallen angel, depending.

Because books.

I think Dean used to deny his fatherly instincts out of habit, but since Ben I think he's really afraid to get that close again. He treats Charlie and Kevin and Cas much more as siblings.
