I'd have to rewatch, but . . . I never got the warm fuzzies from that, more of a tough-love "we need our tool functional" vibe. Maybe it's just that I never warmed to Kevin that I don't buy that the Winchester's did.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I don't think they deny how important his role is, but I never felt they treated him like a tool.
I also don't think you have to get the warm-fuzzies from their interactions to get that they're committed to him as one of their own. Neither Dean or Sam is particularly sappy, even with each other.
I think that Crowley was telling a very important emotional truth to Kevin, but Dean was telling a more important one. And without Sam!
Which he probably thinks he has to, because...Zeke. And stuff. And betrayal. But hey! Get out of hell free card!
Everyone's doing a great job (well, the extra hunters were irrelevant). Huffman, Chau, Shepard--all great tonight, but J2 knocked it out of the park.
When Dean asked if Sam would come with him into the trap and Sam was basically "Hell's yeah!" I got one of those wibbly feelings in my stomach that I love fiction to give me.
Thanks show!
I think if Dean had his way, he'd be adopting stray hunter children left and right.
With the occasional vampire and fallen angel, depending.
I think Dean used to deny his fatherly instincts out of habit, but since Ben I think he's really afraid to get that close again. He treats Charlie and Kevin and Cas much more as siblings.
Sam saying this is the happiest he's felt in forever troubles me a great deal.
It seems out of character for him to gloss over the time he spent with Amelia like that. Even if he would believes they're better off apart, or that his place is really with Dean, it still struck me as odd that he didn't acknowledge that.
Which makes me think the writers are trying to skirt that issue.
I do get the feeling that Sam's happiness is going to have repercussions.
I'm really surprised by commentators I see voicing things like:
The boys are HAPPY right now and communicating... I DON'T TRUST IT.
Either Jensen needs acting lessons or some folks need new TVs. Or glasses. I mean...what is happening on their show?
Yeah, Dean is all angst right now. So, business as usual.
I have a feeling Ezekiel is sincerely healing Sam, but having some unintended side-effects.
