This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

That looks good, ita ! I can't draw a straight line, so I can see how drawing dreads and twists would be hard.

re: fanfic sample -- I honestly can't get past the shitastic, stilted sentences to get to the characterization. It's...painful.

Because books.

Wow, the last moment of that is worrisome.

I'm glad the the idea that the angels would fall with powers didn't occur to many people. More relaxing summer that way, given what we know we know.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Eight years ago today, The Woman in White aired on the WB. Nobody thought it would last!

That's a lot of meta discussion, fic, and vids under the bridge. I look back now and go, who are those guys? And then, I miss those guys. Hell, I miss *me* eight years ago.

Happy Anniversary, Show!

My discs arrived today. Order of actions:

  • tear open the packaging
  • rub them on my body
  • bemoan that it's the same photo shoot as the S7 cover
  • plan SATURDAY

Check!

Then I went back to a fic I had been enjoying. A page came across tumblr that advised writers to skip telling the audience stuff they already know. So, you know, in the real life AU you're wasting time using the phrase "psychic powers" about Missouri, and having Dean imagining fangs on Benny outside of a shroom trip (hell, even in it) is wasted time on both our parts--STOP AT PHLEBOTOMIST. That's just cute enough for your hospital AU.

I do, too, sort of. But I love the way they've both grown and changed. Their characters now really illustrate how much they've faced over the last eight years.

Oh, I've enjoyed watching the growth and change, for sure--for the actors as well as the characters. It just struck me as kind of odd to feel nostalgic for a show that's still running. There's a kind of disconnect between those sharp, hungry actors and boyish characters of early first season, and the beat-down heroes of Season eight--a "WB show" that took an unexpected turn for the really serious. At least that's how it feels to me.
