Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Rachel was Castiel's second in command in the fight against Raphael--she showed up once when Dean summoned him.
If the character had been written like Cas, or, hell, looked like Misha or baby Misha, but literally might as well have been anyone.
I've seen people talk about selecting and replacing their desired pairing into a story before, but even most of the bad fic I write wouldn't support that. I have read D/C where adult Cas is taller than adult Dean, and it grates. I don't like light-haired Dean or black-haired Cas or brown-eyed Sam. I also tend to be in it for personalities. And I can't wrap my head around much different.
I can't keep the one-off angels apart anymore. Which makes her a weird choice for a character in a fic, I think.
I do prefer relative ages to match relative rank. Naomi can be a generation older than Cas, but why would Rachel? Why not just pick Ellen out of the bag of names?
I also don't like the recent trend of making Gabriel the younger brother. All the better to fuck Sam with, more often than not. THAT'S STILL A PITY ANGEL, THOUGH. Despite an "eyefucking" post I saw on my tumblr.
Alona! On Burn Notice! I was wondering why they were being so coy about her face--I guess it was "just" economics, but I'm happy to see her holding a gun on Westen and using an accent I don't recognise (which is usually Israeli, you'd
think
I'd be better at that...).
So what's the point? Is there a big need for search and replace Destielcest? If Cas is exactly the same as Sam would have been, why can't you just read Wincest?
I think I read the same story and thought the exact same thing.
Why do people keep getting Rule 34 in their Rule 63? Male Dean is very sexy, but he's not
dressed
all that sexily--this is something we complain of often and why we worship the henley. So many genderswapped Deans have micro-tank tops and we've never seen Jensen wear one just chilling, and never mind the pencil skirts on Castielle.
(God, I just looked at my genderswap stuff and it's got to go...well, other than the Ronald Hurley. That still makes me laugh, even if the picture's not great.)
I want to have a visual conversation with you guys. Why is it so difficult to technologically enable? (I mean, assuming anyone else gives a fuck, which has not been established...)
I was looking at SPN pics to genderbend, and looking at this [link] I am wondering about this bend [link]
Since I sketched that I have decided that Castielle needs a cardigan, maybe to replace the trenchcoat *or* the suit jacket. Trying to work out what falls into the category of the suiting we see the angels in consistently, but also breaking it by being dowdy. I also feel similarly constrained by the tie, but I think doing a frumpy messy scarf will be easier, I just need to work it out.
Or maybe just keep trench coat--it just feels either too literal or not frumpy enough for a woman. Coincidentally, I'm watching Frances McDormand in Miss Pettigrew Yadda Yaddas, and her coat at the end of it looks suitably frumpy, but I still can't envision it in the right colour scheme. But at the time of the pic I was toying with a necklace. The one in the pic is clearly too pretty, though.
Oh, and Urielle is way too skinny. That's my error in drawing. I want a muscular size ten at the very slightest.
I have no idea what the hell the flower crown TFW art is all about, but I think Petite Madame has sent everyone else home. Unless it's Abaddon wreathed by Venus flytraps or something, what's going to be better (or more beauteous) than this: [link] ?
(God, you guys are quiet)
(Relatively speaking)
I like your genderbend, although I guess I hadn't thought about female Uriel's hair. I guess maybe I see it more like yours?
I think a trenchcoat is okay for Castielle, though. I have one.
I have three trenchcoats. But I think it's really hard for a woman to look as frumpy in one as he does in his.
I think Uriel's hair would be something that demands attention, but almost screams how much it's not demanding attention, and I think pristinely maintained braids are more of a...target, I guess, than my hair, but it does depend on which of my hairs you mean--a general low fro, or the 1/2 guard maintained v. short buzz.
The last genderbent Castiel I saw had stiletto heels.
Um, huh? That's sexy genderbent Castiel to you.
