The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Do you feel like an idea is better shared visually? Or are you just getting more pictures in your head than detailed scenarios?

I think right now, I'm finding the act of drawing more satisfying and soothing than the act of writing. Right now, writing just sort of feels like a slog. As for inspiration, I tend to work both art and story off of quick visual flashes of a moment. With writing, I have to figure out how the hell to get to that moment, and where things go after. With art, I can focus on the moment and imply a lot of stuff that happens in the before and after.

Most recently, I've submitted sketches to the SPN artist swap. They're not my best work, but I found it enjoyable, and it was fun to draw something that was straight-up horror. As for current projects, I just finished up a very time-consuming original piece, but I'm going to be participating in both the SPN crossover big bang and the main BB.

Are you going to be doing any of the BBs this year?

your idea is really emo and sweet, but if you'd been paying attention to the canon as opposed to just that one picture/five minutes/episode you'd see a different pattern

Oh, it drives me nuts when people fixate on one particular moment that feeds their 'feels' and ignore everything else about the character or canon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am intimidated the fuck out by that swap. Go you. If some of those artists drew from my sketches or I had to go off there, I'd have a brain (and hand) freeze of epic proportions. Right now, I function best in relative isolation. But your stuff looks really good.

I'm in the Ruby Teensy Bang right now (I don't even know how I heard of it--maybe the SPN Art Support journal had a mention, but I'm barely on LJ these days), and I have done three pieces and really want to do three more before we post Saturday. The minimum is one, but I'd like to give her a section separator, title card, and pic for each section of the story.

I did also sign up for the normal BB, and we'll see about that one. I'm just so fussy about what I will read, topic-wise, and drawing is even more limited. But every time apart from once I've enjoyed the challenges, so I hope it all goes well. At least as far as the D/C bang. That's where I'm most likely to be able to pick freely from stories. Watch me do that and end up with a John-hater, tho.

it drives me nuts when people fixate on one particular moment that feeds their 'feels' and ignore everything else about the character or canon.

And tumblr feels like it's full of people who've telescoped their reactions, so everything before season 5 is a bit hazy and less integrated into meta. GO BACK AND WATCH, INFANT.

Supernatural, I HATE YOU.

My last picture for the bang just got arsed up because of the magical disappearing rearview mirror. Go--have a google!

I have to start again, and maybe I am putting too much Impala in the picture. Vents? Wipers? Locking mechanism on the back doors? THIS IS A STORY ABOUT RUBY. Focus.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

It looks as though the CW is going to air SPN repeats on Friday nights beginning May 3rd.

The network has decided that the Winchester brothers are so nice they want to show them twice.

Wait, so they've already been to the Grand Canyon? In so very many fanfics that's held up as "one day we'll get to go to The Grand Canyon" in the sense that it's a goal for either when they retire, or one that they know they'll never quite reach.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

There was some fun stuff in all the blood and pain.

Because books.

It seems like John took them to the Grand Canyon when they were so young, though, that neither one of them really appreciated it.

Who wrote this episode? I loved the callouts to John, the not-totally-terrible dad.

So much happened! Big stuff! And yet, I keep focusing on Dean reading to wee!Sammy, and Sammy feeling that he wasn't pure, even as a kid, and Kitchen Sink Stew. LOVE.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I kind of like that Metatron isn't one of the big archangels, but just their equivalent of a regular Joe that Yahweh tapped to take dictation. Though, no knock on Curtis Armstrong's acting, but I was really stoked when it looked like he might have taken a Native American body rather than a Caucasian one like 3 out of 4 archangels and the vast majority of other angels we've seen.

Did I hear somewhere that this episode has all kinds of Shining references, too? Or maybe I dreamed that.
