Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm guessing Annalee wanted to write this recap because Felicia Day is a traffic draw? I can't think why. Or maybe she saw it in advance, so she could have the preview up quickly. They did list the show as one of the ones where it's clear when it started to suck, so I am pouty at them in general on the topic.

I made a bunch of screencaps from the ep, and posted those on IO9 in lieu of the recap, and even though I put text on half of them, Annalee used a few of them anyway. She thanked me, but it's not like she ran the idea by my even cursorily. Man, there are ways to smoothly use content generated for free by the people who pay your rent, and then there are ways to get them to squint at you.

Art Crawl!!!

Sneak Peek!

I thought Charlie and Dean were lovely together, especially at the end. Felicia Day's performance the last few minutes completely got me. Sneaky. Now, to watch the Sneak Peek...

I'm guessing, based on the amount of fanart and the different angles of photos all over my dash, that video came out with this [link] returning character in it, but they're not in the trailer or the sneak peek I've seen so far. Hey, fun times ahead!

But how could John have done anything like that? Since we all know he starved them to death, whipped them and then peed on the wounds.

Jesus.

Sorry. Not over some stuff.

Speaking of disagreeing with people--I just read an argument that Dean's siren was not fraternal-platonic, because they went to a strip bar together, and Sam wouldn't have done that.

Isn't the whole point that the siren would have done what real life wouldn't provide? Isn't that what idealisation is? And to say it's a gay thing because two guys go look at naked women...dude, that's not where you want to draw the argument's focus. [x]. The "Sam from 2 years ago" part of the argument is pretty strawman, I think.

Also, arguing "they tried to write it like XYZ, but really..." uh, do you think the script got out of their control, and Dean insisted on liking dick more than Sam? If they meant it was Sam from two years ago, that's who they were writing about. Now, how it translated is not bound by that, but that's not how the argument is framed.

In news that's actually real, it seems a Jane Pook is stalking the Ackles? Some days humans boggle me. Like, the humans theoretically on our side, the ones who like the same people we do.

God, it was so not a "Dean likes dick" thing. It was the same thing that happened with Gary!Sam later on -- he was enjoying spending time with a Sam who was a little more relaxed, a little less stressed, a lot less serious. The siren was just a stand-in in that episode. Have these people never heard of projection?

I just saw that about the stalking tonight. It makes me so angry -- Danneel's due date is soon, I think, and that's not at all a time when you want to feel like some crazy chick is lurking around every corner.

I wonder if the stalkers go for Jensen because he's less accessible than Jared? I mean, neither one of them are *accessible* but Jared has always shared personal details more easily than Jensen does, anyway.

See, I think you can argue it as a gay thing, but "that's not a perfect Sam because he does something Dean loves that real Sam wouldn't" is arguing the opposite from its supposed intention. Since it appeared as a sexual partner to everyone else, there's some traction there. It's not the biggest and best piece in the bi-Dean arsenal, but I'd leave it on the list.
