I haven't the least idea why, since I don't think it's important to Dean's characterisation for sex scenes to be rare or particularly missionary. Jensen is one of the notable variables there.

Allow me a moment of schmoop. I remember sitting with my Dad in church--it was practically the only time we had together, since he was working all the time, and I was always with my mom. But he had a nice baritone voice, and I can remember being cuddled up against him while the congregation sang hymns, and how his voice rumbled through his chest. I felt so safe and loved.
I just got a little teary, thinking of Jensen's child sleeping on him, hearing that low rumble and feeling safe.
