I sort of think it's a little brother thing, as well as Dean being the general. I guess I think Dean is the general because he is the older brother?
I got to see the Uncle Jensen moment live!
I want to write the schmoopiest, stupidest RPF where they all get together and the babies play, and the wives shake their heads at their ridiculous husbands, and Misha, like, blows up a barbecue grill or something, and everyone laughs, the end.
But Cas and Bobby let him take the lead too, which is why I call it the general instead of the elder bro. I dunno. Sam just looked to me in that scene like he was waiting for orders, not guidance (sic 'em, Moose!), if you see what I'm clumsily trying to say.
AO3 needs a notes function so I can know not to go back to certain authors. I used that shamelessly on LJ, but I've drifted away from even reading fic there. Which is silly. Should go back. But I need to remember to avoid the writer who makes it sound like they're actually stitching his
stomach
instead of a cut to his torso. Which--clumsy phrasing--I certainly dig. But they (she...) chose to end the story with:
they lay the rest of the night in eachother's arms, drinking the bottle of whiskey and whispering their love to eachother, one's ear so close to another's lips that they brushed together
I mean, at least they're alcoholics? That's all I got...
I don't have the picture.

Seconded. There are authors in various fandoms where I always have a twinge of recognition, and I click on the story... only to recall
why
I recognize the name and that it wasn't for a good reason.
Wanna see something pretty? No? Okay, fine: [link]
The Sam .gif next to it completes the whole thing. "That damn brother of mine ..."
"There he goes...being all pretty again. We can't get him to stop, you know?"
And then Sam takes off his shirt casually and everyone faints.

I have sent in, I believe, a Block Author request to their functionality requests. The more people request a feature, the more likely it is to show up.
