Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

Because books.

Indeed.

But it's also the depth of loyalty to either Sam or Dean. No one seems able to sympathize with both of them. To love one this season, apparently you have to demonize (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?) the other.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

tiggy, do you have a link for the Ty response to the person wanting Jared off the show? I barter this, in exchange.

Can people see that? I can repost off flickr if necessary.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Somebody named JaredPmustgo he told "don't bring your stupidity here" and that the shows success was because of its two strong leads.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thank you, Ty (TY Ty?). Jesus shitty spiteful lunkheads. The idea of making a twitter identity (even if it's one of your many) about getting rid of one half of a two-person show--you're amazingly clueless--that's the nicest I can be about your lard-brained self. Jared P, don't go until Jensen A does, and let that not be for a while, mmkay? If you need a teensy bit more time off for babby, OKAY. But you will also need to buy him lots of ponies! Baby needs a new show pony!

This [link] floated across my dash, and my strongest reaction to it is how Sam, a very capable and accomplished man in his own right (even if I'd have loved a year's worth of Hunter Sam avenging up and down the coasts while Dean was...never mind) defers to Dean's judgement--and I don't believe it's a little brother thing. I believe it's a Dean's-the-general thing, and I like it.

Because books.

I sort of think it's a little brother thing, as well as Dean being the general. I guess I think Dean is the general because he is the older brother?

I got to see the Uncle Jensen moment live!

I want to write the schmoopiest, stupidest RPF where they all get together and the babies play, and the wives shake their heads at their ridiculous husbands, and Misha, like, blows up a barbecue grill or something, and everyone laughs, the end.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But Cas and Bobby let him take the lead too, which is why I call it the general instead of the elder bro. I dunno. Sam just looked to me in that scene like he was waiting for orders, not guidance (sic 'em, Moose!), if you see what I'm clumsily trying to say.

AO3 needs a notes function so I can know not to go back to certain authors. I used that shamelessly on LJ, but I've drifted away from even reading fic there. Which is silly. Should go back. But I need to remember to avoid the writer who makes it sound like they're actually stitching his stomach instead of a cut to his torso. Which--clumsy phrasing--I certainly dig. But they (she...) chose to end the story with:

they lay the rest of the night in eachother's arms, drinking the bottle of whiskey and whispering their love to eachother, one's ear so close to another's lips that they brushed together

I mean, at least they're alcoholics? That's all I got...
