"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm beginning to wonder if Sam's actions have been so uncharacteristic because he's literally under Amelia's spell, much like he was with Becky last year. Because I just cannot reconcile the über-bitchy vet we saw trying to insult a drifter into adopting an injured dog that may or may not have already had owners in the premiere with tonight's refugee from a Massengill commercial.

nods head, okay, I could see that ... the other thought I was entertaining was drugs. As in, he's been medicated by a psychiatrist, which has changed his affect so completely.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't be mad at Sam or Dean. I'm mad at the writers for making me uncomfortable with one brother written miserable and one written tone deaf.

How can I root for anything other than them coming back to themselves? And it doesn't have to be a plausible gradual shift--they can wake up that way tomorrow, for all I care. This part is not fun for me.

Part of me thinks that Sam should be easier on his brother who was in Purgatory, but Purgatory was only sad last week, so enh. I also have no idea how long Dean was there, how much time passed for him, how much was without Cas, or why HE is the one sneaking away to make surreptitious phone calls, and not Sam who left a woman and a dog in bed.

Sure, maybe a year is plenty of time to get them here, but a) tell me how, and b) don't make me not enjoy them each week.

Oy.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Several things that aren't fresh in Deanmark: he's reading the news on his phone, followed closely in confirmation of wrongness by him downloading an app. And since I was just watching old episodes last night, I noticed that now he's way too tanned (or has the wrong shade of makeup on)(/superficial).

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Eggs Benedict: so, Betsy/Eleanor says the heart is key, so kill the donor patient with the heart and that's like the head of the snake. But I thought jogger dude got the heart? Or was it that despite what organ each original donor patient got, they were all going after hearts?

Hate Amelia with so much vitriol. "Don't you know what a cake looks like, dummy? Let's ignore the part where my disappearance made you worried and angry. Eat, you moron! EAT!".

Maybe Jensen hates her as much as I do, and let her all but say "Eat the cookie, mother!".

Was the blond cop in Ames a previous demon on Show?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Jogger dude got a kidney, they were all ripping out hearts for the sacrifice.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

But show opens with Dean reading "jogger in Mineapolis gets his heart ripped out" and six months ago the same thing happened in the same city.

--I think I'm mixing up who gets what when. My bad. My question had been about whether the killer!jogger ripped out the heart of the poor bastard in the beginning. But I was still confused at that point and mixing up that with original transplants. I am tired. Ignore me now.

That's what -t said. They were all ripping out hearts. And the jogger received a kidney transplant.

Is Dean reading the news on his phone supposed to be weird? He's always been shown to be decent at using a laptop--they've never played him unable to use technology, and his unwillingness about the iPod was very specific.

App, yes. But my mother reads news on her phone. Someone whose job depends on tracking and cross-referencing news from across the country--it makes sense to me that they wouldn't eschew a ubiquitous and handy source like that.

I don't want to be all SPN-fan-hates-the-ladies, but for god's sake, tell me he was in the north east (??) and bumped into Sarah Blake again. And she said things less annoying, and got cakes that didn't look like they were from Von's.

Well, you know Jess had to have made sure he had birthday cakes. And while the adult Winchesters probably didn't make a big deal out of birthdays, while he was little Dean probably at least handed him a Tasty-cake cupcake or something on his birthdays.
