It's interesting to see them side by side like that. Jensen actually looks broader in the shoulders, but he's nowhere near as ripped as Jared, which means he's probably broader naturally, I guess.
Jared is just ... some days I get a hint of Herman Munster from his sheer size and breadth.

Yes, he is a sad, sad excuse for a man indeed.
It does strike me from time to time, though -- Jensen got a little older, a little heavier, a little more lined over the last seven years (all of which is a-okay with me), but Jared is nearly unrecognizable. If I looked at a picture of Pilot!Sam and Sam now, it might take a minute to realize it's the same guy.

I read a bunch (okay 3) fics over the past couple days that talked about Dean having accumulated some pudge about the waist. i don't usually read stories with naked Sam, but I'm wagering that they're playing off of the manic workout Jared we see every week, and he doesn't accumulate anything other than more bulk.
Jensen...if you hadn't seen him earlier you might not understand how he did look, because he's plenty pleasing to the eye now, but Jared's age and workout regimen have had way more of a change--look at him in Better By The Dozen which is before Gilmore Girls, I think, and Jensen has much more continuity from Days to here.
