Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

First i miss an incest tag (seriously--how much not reading can I do?), and then I stumble on a short fic that makes no sense until the author's note at the end:

Uhm. I made Dean Sammy's dad. I REGRET NOTHING.

Which doesn't actually make sense. It just explains some of the stupidity.

Because books.

Wait, she put that note at the end of the story, but it wasn't obvious in the story itself?

Because books.

In other news, wow.

And yet, not as disturbing as it could have been.

There's a point at which Sam says "Dad" and they make a reference to his grandfather which makes no sense. Until you hit the note and go back up and read it. It's not like I'm ever going to take the subtext and come to that conclusion, because IT'S STUPID.

The doll is really cute. I cannot bring myself to read the words about the doll, because I am scared.

It's really not scary, just ridiculous. And Plushtiel is sort of cute!

Because books.

In my endless loop of rewatching the TNT reruns news, Crossroads Blues is so bittersweet. The foreshadowing, and Dean's stance on deals, and both Sam and Dean's complete innocence about what they're going to face by the end of the season, and then later on ...

Oh, BOYS.

Yeah--when we reached that in the SuperWire rewatch I wanted to loop back and watch it again, and also stare meaningfully at the side of bon's face..

I saw a poster bitching "They're gonna tell that story again????" about S8. So, because I'm me, I asked...which story? Because if you want it to stop being the story of how two brothers relate to each other, you're hopefully out of luck. Oh, you know, the...I was suffering in a different dimension while you tried to live a life alone and didn't quite make it, and then you came back and it was awkward but then it wasn't anymore.

I asked if they thought Dean's return from Hell and Robo!Sam were similar stories in any way other than what he'd just said...I guess he got bored with the discussion.

I'm looking forward to this season like you would not believe. (Well, maybe you would.) I've heard a few teasing spoilery things, and for the first time in forever I've really been tempted to search out more.

But I'm being good. I can wait. I think.

Seriously, what does "that story again?!" even mean?

In completed unrelated news, Teen Wolf fandom really exploded, huh? They're already having a big bang!

Good lord! I want to punch the "Too cool for 6 & 7" people in the head. Fine--you didn't enjoy them as much as 1-5 (I have no idea how you can rank them below 3, but whatevs). But don't do the whole "AMIRITE???" thing with me, because I have said repeatedly that I disagree.

And, yes, Supernatural was still my favourite show, but no, not because everything else sucked. I like most of the TV I watch, weirdly. It was the best of a fun lot.

Oy. I hate the fake-convivial assumption that I must totes agree with them.

Because books.

This is why I avoid most of the fandom.

Also because, in a new Dean h/c meme, people are prompting for missing limbs (sometimes plural!), serious mental illness, burns, all kinds of horrifying stuff. What happened to a bad cold or a sprained ankle?
