Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

I would prefer Purgatoratus. Lots of fun syllables! Though I don't write fic and haven't read any for years. I just like saying it. Purgatoratus, purgatoratus, purgatoratus.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If a Winchester-less episode is needed, I vote for one featuring Sheriff Mills, Cas, and Crowley.

Because books.

Ooh, I think you might have something with purgatoratus.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I've realized that what I want to see, both in fic and in the show, is Sam and Dean living long enough to get old. I think that would be the perfect final scene of the series for me - a 30 second end tag showing one of them sitting on the front steps, visibly in his 60s or 70s, and then joined by the other one, also that age, who bumps his shoulder as he sits down beside him. I can't decide what music should be playing though - maybe an acoustic version of "Carry On"?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know if I want the series to go out that happily or not. I might also be satisfied with them Bonnie and Clyding it off this mortal coil.

CRYING NOW, THANKS. (That's perfect. Sniffle.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

But I do think I could stand 42 minutes of Kevin and Cas both being...adorable. And serious. Seriously adorable.

I approve of this. Approvingly. With approval. Yes.

Man, sometimes you're reading a mediocre fic, and they suddenly get you with a good chapter. Characterisation is nothing special in this AU, but both the concept and execution of Sam and Cas as FBI partners breaking into a building in the night and getting into a firefight? Distractingly hot, and the end of the chapter took me totally by surprise. Fucking canon. Fucking Jake.

And to tie back into past blathering--Dean forcibly separated from Sam, Cas beyond his reach, and *deliberately* avoiding Bobby is not a full participant in a relationship. I forgot about his cutting off of Bobby--he's going to be the least of the three in terms of on-the-road hunting memories, but I think it was supposed to be clear that there was one link left and he had to make an all or nothing call. Having Bobby in his life would have been too much hunting, and he wouldn't have been able to be as present for Lisa as he needed to be and ended up being.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm on lcat's bench with the desired series ending. I know it's the unpopular version with most people, including the actors and Kripke, but I think the characters have endured through so much crap, they deserve some downtime and a good ending. Not necessarily happy ever after, but a chance to experience the peace they've earned.

Apparently the poster for season 8 is the cover for the season 6 DVD set. I swear, these guys seem to do as few shoots as possible. I can think of three over last year, if memory serves, and one of them was because they won an award. Or is it four, and another was because they got the TV Guide cover? Anyway, I can only think of two that were used as show material--the one where they got lazily composited over the grave and Misha wasn't dressed like Cas...or was that S6? And the one where they were sitting around the decrepit room, which was a seriously hot shoot, and just proof that they need to be doing many more of them.
