Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Man, sometimes you're reading a mediocre fic, and they suddenly get you with a good chapter. Characterisation is nothing special in this AU, but both the concept and execution of Sam and Cas as FBI partners breaking into a building in the night and getting into a firefight? Distractingly hot, and the end of the chapter took me totally by surprise.
Fucking canon. Fucking Jake.
And to tie back into past blathering--Dean forcibly separated from Sam, Cas beyond his reach, and *deliberately* avoiding Bobby is not a full participant in a relationship. I forgot about his cutting off of Bobby--he's going to be the least of the three in terms of on-the-road hunting memories, but I think it was supposed to be clear that there was one link left and he had to make an all or nothing call. Having Bobby in his life would have been too much hunting, and he wouldn't have been able to be as present for Lisa as he needed to be and ended up being.
I'm on lcat's bench with the desired series ending. I know it's the unpopular version with most people, including the actors and Kripke, but I think the characters have endured through so much crap, they deserve some downtime and a good ending. Not necessarily happy ever after, but a chance to experience the peace they've earned.
Apparently the poster for season 8 is the cover for the season 6 DVD set. I swear, these guys seem to do as few shoots as possible. I can think of three over last year, if memory serves, and one of them was because they won an award. Or is it four, and another was because they got the TV Guide cover? Anyway, I can only think of two that were used as show material--the one where they got lazily composited over the grave and Misha wasn't dressed like Cas...or was that S6? And the one where they were sitting around the decrepit room, which was a seriously hot shoot, and just proof that they need to be doing many more of them.
It seems like they only do shoots not arranged by the CW, which seems to mean the CW doesn't bother to do them? The only shoots I can remember from this past year are the TV Guide ones.
I don't really pay attention, but maybe the season 8 poster is just a placeholder. I mean, they've got time to promo the new season. Say three months, and in the meantime everyone is VAKAY YAY!!!!1! And then they'll regroup during their break and get new shots out there? I dunno, have previous seasons ended with already new shoots in the bag to promote the new season during the big summer break?
Maybe showrunners changing hands means the ball gets dropped? New bosses not realizing all their miniscule duties until it's too late (lord knows that's what I have right now at work, not that I hold it against her, short of me bossing her around, which is not a dynamic I want to set).
You're right, Amy--the shoot I'm thinking of with Cas dressed funny is season 6. Cas isn't in the S7 promo pics. Which are what went on the S6 DVD.
However, all the CW shows don't seem to re-use this much. Vampire Diaries usually has photos I've not seen before by the time they get around to the first poster and synopsis of the upcoming season.
I mean, what they're sending out as publicity right now for Wednesday is an (obviously new) Arrow poster, and a dusty old Supernatural one. I'm assuming there has to be a shoot for the new DVDs,
Maybe they assume the fan base is what it is, and it's not necessarily going to attract new viewers this late in the game?
They might also assume anyone looking at any picture of the Js will be too blinded by sheer beauty to notice if it's a new photo.
Meanwhile, this is adorable. I have very little idea what's actually being said, but Misha and Jensen especially are hysterical. And the payoff at the end is totally worth it.
the fan was talking about how Misha was asked which other character he would play if not Castiel. he said Dean and that he specifically said the role should be recast and that they look exactly alike. the rest is was ensued. haha!!
It sounds something like "You just turned foggy water into icecream", but obviously that ain't right.
I think Misha might be talking about Misha being recast as Dean, maybe, and Jensen being cool with that?
growing nails out is not conducive to typing well.
Thanks, tiggy! I got something about recasting, but other than that I just loved Jensen mugging it up whenever Misha wasn't looking.
