I was actually starting to get confused, because the clip you linked here seems to have nothing to do with the initial preview we got for the next episode. Want Cas! Or whoever he is.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Oh man, if they hired Misha for a guest stint to finally answer the question of what happened to Jimmy Novak, I am going to be pissed.
There was a dancer in the preview we got--I'm assuming it covered two episodes, but that's the tie I see between the peek and the trailer.
Matt, do you deny the vessel his due? What sort of a monster are you?
The kind that would much prefer Misha playing a badass character that's pining with unrequited love for Dean and dropping hilarious fish-out-of-water comments rather than a boring fundie milquetoast who no doubt needs to be reunited with his family rather than contributing to my viewing enjoyment.
I'm with Matt.
From the genderswap pic:
Oh my. Samantha has quite the rack.
Well, the original is a moose.

If the writers decide to take some time and wrap up Jimmy's story (or, say, Adam's), I'm not mad at them. They can do it with a few lines of dialogue, but if they involve the relevant actors, I think the characters have deserved as much for their sacrifices.
Loved the sneak peek!
I'm not quite as invested in Jimmy's story, simply because it seemed to me like his wife and daughter didn't expect to ever see him again.
Some mention of what happened to Adam down in the cage would be fine, though. It would actually be good, because you have to wonder if Sam feels guilt about that, too -- that he's out, even if he is heavily damaged, but innocent Adam is stuck there to be tortured forever.
But I do want to know if Jimmy has been hosting Cas this whole time, or if he's gone to his reward one of the times Cas died, or inbetween, or what. So he totally doesn't have to come back as Cas, but maybe Jimmy has been back this whole time--maybe when Cas got reintegrated after being blown up by Raphael, he got put back in Pontiac--think the Winchesters ever checked? Who the fuck knows?
If they hadn't bothered to give us one episode, I'd wonder less. But they did get me interested, so I think it's reasonable to tie up the loose ends.
I think in my head, Jimmy was gone once Castiel took him over again (and left Claire's vessel). I'm not sure where I got that idea, but I haven't really wondered about Jimmy since. That said, I won't mind if they tie up the story for the reason you stated -- they opened that door in the first place by giving us an episode about him.
