"In my true form I have a hundred eyes. Sparing one or two of them to give my fallen brethren a stern look at any given moment shouldn't be a problem."
I am seriously thinking about it, Amy.
I was just image searching for a tumblr entry, and settled on this: [link] You know how you're not supposed to say anything if you walk up to someone's screen and they switch away too late?
Well, please don't whisper "That looks homoerotic" to me about it, OKAY. Seriously. I'm not going to be able to concentrate for the next five to ten minutes. Not on work.
Oh dear.
Although I can't see it that way, because I know exactly what's going on there. If you were looking at a picture of Yellow Eyes!John with Dean up against the wall ... possibly different story.
Mystery Spot and Jus in Bello are such a fantastic double bill.
One of my favorite things about Mystery Spot is, despite scary OCD Sam the Hunter! in the second half, he's so much Sam the Little Brother throughout. His big brother keeps dying, right in front of him, and he has no idea what to do. And the look on his face -- so lost, so frustrated, so miserable -- is so unbelievably true and heartbreaking. And the hug! God, the hug. And Dean just takes it, relaxes and lets Sam cling for a minute, because he's awesome.
And then in Jus in Bello, when they're in the cell and Hendricksen and then the FBI guy come in to talk to them, Dean takes the lead both times. Sam is sitting back, listening, and Dean does all the talking, which seems so natural -- he's the big brother, he'll handle it. Even when Hendricksen mentions how their father no doubt "touched you in the bad place," Sam sits up, but he still doesn't speak or make another move.
BROTHERS. Against the frigging world.
Points toward Amy and nods. One of the bonuses of working from home. Added SPN.
Absolutely. God bless TNT, man.
Also? If Henricksen hadn't died, I could see the two of them having a very Dean/Cas vibe with the UST and the teaching and bickering.
::sniff::
I'm still mad at people who file Mystery Spot under "comedic" without totally mitigating it was painEVERLASTINGpain. It's just one of the most heartbreaking episodes, and I'm sufficient hurt by it that I don't actually laugh at any of the slapstick. Just at Dean in the mornings, and only with trepidation.
Jus In Bello is just highly underrated. Man, fuck, I need to watch that more often. That's one of those deaths whose grieving I nurse.
Oh, the beginning of Mystery Spot cracks me up, but it's painful just the same. Especially after the first few, when Sam starts to look more and more desperate.
And Jus in Bello is painful from the start, when you know what's coming -- NANCY. And Henricksen promising to keep her safe, and so game to switch teams and fight the real evil, and then boom.
Not for nothing, the look on Sam and Dean's faces when Henricksen says they'll never see each other again is one of the hurtiest moments.
Okay, I'm making a list of eps to be rewatched soonest that don't impinge on Superwire with bon, and that's totally eligible. I do wish I had it on Blu Ray, though.
Is there a way to set an internetwide alert on these things?
